Cromartie to be primary returner vs Pats?

    Manish Mehta I'm hearing A. Cromartie may be #Jets primary returner Sunday for Rd 3 vs. #Patriots. Too early 2 definitively know, but keep eye on it.

    As well and big as Cro's retunrs were it would seem to be the wrong move to me - UNLESS - Brad Smith is hurt alot worse than we believe.

    Smith has been doing it all year at a very high level.

    If Smith is healthy he's gotta be the one returning the kicks and let Cromartie focus on defense. That being said, if there's a situation late in the half or in the 4th quarter where we badly need a long return, I wouldn't mind seeing Cromartie get a shot back there.

    I wouldn't bench the guy averaging nearly 30 yards per because Cro got one good return, but if B. Smith can't go, I have no argument

    smith is a safer choice (feel like he has better ball security)

    but cromartie is alot more explosive.

    i would maybe give cromartie 1 go at it.

    Not at all. This cretin was never a fan. Mike Devito could have ran the ball back with some of the holes the special teams created for slow running Smith.

    Smith has to be 100% when returning. I doubt he will be, so saving Smith to play some QB isn't a bad idea. Smith is better than Cromartie, but it's not like a huge dropoff either. Cro is faster than Smith, but not as shifty.

    I don't know if I like this unless Smith is injured. I honestly think Smith would have returned that last kick for a TD Saturday.
