I can see Aso taking less to have 2 seasons with the Jets (something in the 5-6 mill range) and then leave for his last big contract at age 33. The guy is all about winning (and one can see why having played 8 years with the Raiders).
The dude is already rich beyond belief. The level of fame you could achieve here could easily make up for lack of salary. Revis has national endorsements off 1 great year. What do you know.... some players might actual just want to win.
Plus having Aso take a pay cut to play for the Jets would make Revis look even more like Mevi$ for the way he handled himself in the off-season... and possibly avoid another Revis hold-out in a couple of years.

Not so sure Revis in the slot can be dominant. However I guess Aso + Revis + Wilson in the slot would suffice.
No team can afford to pay two top-shelf CBs. You're better off trying to spend your time nabbing a top Safety, NT and build up the LB corps. You need a pass rush before anything.
Agree. Slot isn't Revis' game. Otherwise, you'd be able to shut down Welker every time you guys face the Pats.

It's a nice thought, but way to early to tell what is going to happen. Regardless of Aso wanting to come here or not, we don't even know what the new CBA will look like and that cap situation. Besides our top priorities need to be deciding what to do with Harris, Edwards and Holmes. Then once their fates are decided, we can look into whether or not to keep Cro or if we have enough money left to sign Aso.
