I guess Belichik was impressed with the Jets Saturday. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...s-patriots-rubber-match-the-way-it-should-be/ “That was a pretty exciting game last night,” Belichick said on a conference call via the Boston Herald Sunday. Belichick believes it’s only appropriate his team faces the Jets again to truly decide who was the best in the division. “We split with them, and now it’s best two-out-of-three,” Belichick said. “Probably the way it should be. . . . It’s a big challenge for us. I don’t think the last game, the first game, I don’t think that’s going to have a whole lot of meaning.”
There's a mutual respect between Belichick and Ryan that wasn't (and probably still isn't) there between Belichick and Manigni.
Another bite from the conference call about Saturday's game. The Jets made the plays they had to make at the end of the game and won it. That's kind of what we all think of playoff football as being -- two good teams playing right down to the wire. And on the upcoming matchup Even though we're familiar with them, and they're familiar with us, I feel like every time you play a team things go a lot differently. We're not expecting anything other than starting this game off and trying to do a better job than the Jets do on Sunday afternoon."
Yeah cus at the end of the day Ryan has results to show for it. Two straight years in the divisional round
Not likely. Tomlin is more like Cowher and talks his team up. Harbaugh likewise. I expect alot of trash between those two teams. Your boy Braylon is confident WR Braylon Edwards (from @DanWetzel) "I remember what happened [Dec. 6 in a 45-3 Patriots win] but at the end of the day we know we're better than them. ... If they come at us with their press coverage or man-to-man they did at beginning of the game we'll take advantage of it this time."
bb is an evil genius. he is a tremendous student of the game and appreciates good football over pretty much everything else in life. he's the best coach of his generation and he obviously sees that Rex is a good young coach who goes about things differently but who is well suited for the Jets and NYC - something BB wasn't. he's absolutely right on the money in his comments. I hope we kick his ass all over foxboro.
I suspect alot of the Pats players would love to talk too, but they don't dare. B(ig) B(rother) is watching!
After the game yesterday, everyone asked the players about the upcoming game next week. Almost everyone said "we want to enjoy this game now, ask again later" Braylon on the other hand, is fired up. saying something like "we ain't gonna taker their shit this time." He had a huge game the first meeting, I hope we get him involved this game. He could be the difference maker we originally got him to be.
I have to wonder if BB really thought last nights game was "exciting ". We all know he doesn't always say exactly what he thinks and sometimes his words are cryptic. One of the things I love about him. No offense to my hosts and hostesses here, but I thought the Colts_Jets game was rather lackluster. And I was pulling for the Jets. Maybe that's because I thought the Seattle-NO game was absolutely edge of my seat exciting. Being a closet Seahawks fan may have abit to do with that. I'm expecting the upcoming rematch to be much more exciting.
I think if you keep listening to him talk about the Jets, by Sunday, you'll think they're the best team since the 85 Bears. (I'm sure there's plenty about the Jets he does respect. He's not an idiot) I think he'll let the Jets do the trash talking as usual and use whatever he finds useful from that on Sunday. He is an evil genius but he's our evil genius!
