He just claimed that Michael Irvin was more important to the Cowboys teams winning then Jerry Rice was to the 49ers. Does he really beieve this crap or does he just say it to piss people off.
To be fair SF did win 2 SB titles in the 80s w/o Rice and Dallas wasn't close in the 10 years before Irvin or since he left so that statement isn;'t quite as outrageous as it seems though I disagree w/ it.
He says it to get reactions and viewers. This thread is an example of that working. He's also really fucking dumb.
I don't have to agree with it, and I'm not sure I do, but I actually don't think that's an insane point. I honestly don't know, and don't care to work it through. ETA: Of course, he made his bones writing in the Aikman/Irvin/Smith era, so I'm sure that slants things.
That dumbass said this morning that rex ryan wears a "kick me sign" and that he has gone over the edge from a real good coach to a new york celebrity. He also said that rex thinks he is the new york jets lololol....
I didnt elaborate enough on his point. He didnt just say he was more important to his team he also said that he was a better player because he had Troy and not Montana. He said Rice was a product of a great qb and the system.
Say something sensible and non-confrontational= nobody cares much. Say something asinine and express your "opinions" loudly (even if they might be artificial)= people talk about you and mention your name.
Skip Bayless induces the "grab the remote control" reflex. By the way, Braylon should be appalled to see this:
Like Francessa, he just says stuff to get attention. I'd hit the ignore button on him, if he had one.
I think he is that dumb and his explanation was that Joe M made Rice, my question is who threw to Irvin? Was it not a HOF QB named Aikman? I had some respect for him but now he is becoming a Francessa type of commentator where he thinks is right about everything.
True, but occasionally both will make good points. I used to hate Bayless. Now I like that he's willing to have contrary opinions.
