I'm 100% in favor of the Jets looking at drafting a slot receiver in rd 5 and later Here's a small list of some of my favorites that will be later round picks: Ryan Whalen, Stanford - Solid receiver that isn't afraid to go over the middle. Dane Sanzenbacher, OSU - Tough SOB, smart player. Will sacrifice his body and never drops the ball. Cecil Shorts, Mount Union - extremely fast and very productive. Sleeper!! might be better as an all purpose player. Niles Paul, Nebraska - not very fast, awesome hands. Jerrel Jernigan, Troy - small player that is electric and great returner. Jeff Maehl, Oregon - underrated, catches everything. Love his potential, may go a lot higher than Rd 5. Gerald Jones - Tennessee - quick catches slants and crossing routes. Marquis Maze, Bama - great hands, good returner. Jeremy Kerley, TCU - IMO, an ideal slot receiver, runs great routes. One of the best returners in the country.
I love Maehl ,Maze, and Sanzenbacher and if we could keep our top two and get any of these it woud be a huge boost our o and possibly special teams.
Great list. I have to throw some other names into this thread: All-Purpose: ECU's Dwayne Harris Indiana's Tandon Doss System players: SMU's Aldrick Robinson Texas Tech's Detron Lewis Then there's the short guys: Oregon State's James Rodgers WVU's Jock Sanders
Dwayne Harris is my favorite slot guy in this draft. Not very fast or flashy, but has experience in the slot and does everything a winning football player has to do. Also like Sanzenbacher from OSU, but that's if we're gonna be taking a slot receiver later than the 4th/5th round.
Won't he go play baseball? Seems like he has a bright future over there... I love that guy, he's a bad ass... too bad he'll play the wrong sport.
