RichCimini Rich Cimini If #Jets advance to divisionals, conditional 3rd rnd pick ('11) for Antonio Cromartie goes up to 2nd rnd, per source. SD rooting for Jets.
What's interesting is that if the Jets do win, a large part of it will likely be the difference of having Cromartie, rather than the Sheppard/Strickland/Lowery debacle of last year, making the 2nd rounder more worth it.
I think it would be an absolute disaster if we gave up a 2nd round pick for a one year rental. How AJ Smith was able to pull this shit on Tanny is tough to believe.
Yes but he was only under contract for one more season. The condition of the pick being upgraded should have been based on him signing a long term contract with the Jets.
Did anyone else offer a 2nd or 3rd round pick for a player coming off two bad seasons and a bad hip? Can the Jets really afford to pay Revis, Cromatie and have a first round pick being used a 3rd corner next year?
Do you guys think Ryan will coach them to lose now to get a better pick? Guys? New York Jets delenda est.
Cimini better have his information wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. It should only move up to the 2nd wrong if Cro signs a long term contract with the Jets.
Cro is still a restricted free agent next year, we get a pick if he leaves. This is assuming the new CBA doesn't change rules about RFA's. Same applies for Holmes, the Smith's, Harris, and some other FA's next year.
Was really hoping it was conditioned on making or even winning the Super Bowl. Hopefully we can sign him for a reasonable amount... not holding my breathe though.
