I don't want to sound too down about LT but I wouldn't mind seeing McKnight getting some of his carries.
Chris Johnson had 39 yds on 20 carries against that D yesterday. why do we take away his longest run? We don't need more McKnight, we need more Shonn Greene this week. LT will do his job catching passes, Shonn should get at least 20 carries if we are going to win.
TOTALLY agree with this. Let him return the punts! I'm will give this to McKnight: He certainly is healthy compared to the other backs on this team. That alone might make him useful.
CJ makes a lot of yards on his own, the Tits o-line isn't as good at run blocking as ours. You shouldn't but he only had 8 carries. Do you really think Conner was the better RB yesterday? I agree we need a heavy dose of the shonnmower here, but if we play a ball control game with a lot of rush attempts I wouldn't mind seeing McNugget taking a handful of carries.
Whatever the reasons were johnson was held in check like I have never seen before. Do I think Connor was better? No, the point is anyone could have run against that pathetic D yesterday. Connor is a brusing FB and averaged 5.5 YPC. I wouldn't ahve any problems w/ McKnight on a screen, i still don't know if I feel comfortable w/ him getting carries although I'd like to see him as the pitch back in the WC.
I object to that!! That is too crucial, can't risk losing a possession when we get them to punt. I'd rather a sure thing than a chance at a extra 10 yards here and there.
It is good to know that we have a potentially capable backup if one of our RBs goes down. With that said, he needs to show me more ball security before I give him carries during the playoffs if my primary backs are healthy.
He had 20 carries and 1.95 YPC. His only other time below 2 YPC was on just 7 carries. His previously low wehn getting at least 20 carries was almost a yard higher at 2.75. Whatever the reasons, he was held in check like never before.
Absolutely, I do not want him returning punts. Cotch isn't Santana Moss back there but I know he is catching the ball on every punt. I cannot trust McKnight to catch punts consistently yet and I definitely wouldn't put him back there for the first time in a playoff game. I would put him back w/ Cotch when we have an opponent pinned deep and he will likely have more room but never by himself. Not yet.
Yeah, no need to reinvent the wheel in the playoffs, there's other fish to fry. Let Cotchery catch the punts as he has been since Leonhard went down.
Let's all remember Sanchez won't be throwing a ton because of his shoulder so we need all our RBs healthy and fresh throughout the game...
I don't think his shoulder will dictate how often we throw. I don't think that for a second. He threw a bunch, and threw fine against the Bears 2 weeks ago. Now he's had a week to rest it.
I don't know exactly what is wrong w/ his shoulder but he threw the ball pretty damn well against Chicago.
This is easily the focus. As I said in another thread, I don't like the Colts' defensive speed on turf. I do like Shonn smacking the shit out of speed.
