The Jets accomplished so much with this victory.

McKnight showed us a TON. He can catch passes and he rushed for well over 100 yards. McKnight showed great vision, there was one play I recall when the A gap closed, he took contact, broke contact, and he bounced it outside. I am very pleased McKnight showed me so much in this game.

The secondary...yes it was Buffalo AND yes Fitzpatrick was out, but the reserves got valuable minutes. Buffalo's WR Johnson had an average game (for him, this season) and was held without a score. Not much more I can say, a 4 INT day is a great day for the secondary.

The run defense was excellent giving up less than 40 yards.

Calvin Pace and Jason Taylor looked to gain some confidence.

Brunell showed he still has decent arm strength and is ready to go if Sanchez (knock on wood) is unable to play at some point.

    My only 2 negatives
    No Gholston sack.

    and

Rex said he wanted to keep Sanchez "sharp" but Sanchez handed the ball of 9 times. How is that keeping him sharp? Should it concern us he didn't throw any passes or am I reading too much into it?

Depends on how well Sanchez prepares.

I take one thing from this game. McKnight can be trusted. He deserves some opportunities next week. I know it was Buffalo but the guy has ability. It's just a matter of trusting him to hold onto the ball. I also thought he ran hard today. It wasn't the stuff we saw in pre-season.

Other then that I don't think it's fair to assume anything we saw will translate to next week. The only thing is confidence from the guys on defense. They got a ton of pressure today. It has to get discouraging if you're a guy like Pace or JT and you never get to the QB. Getting there for a change might translate into confidence.

I don't even consider a "no sack for Gholston" to be a negative.

I usually don't give up on any of my players, but he's simply a lost cause.

Ahh, a key point I meant to make, no fumbles.

I liked that Vlad got a good amount of playing time and his name was never mentioned. That means he was doing well.

It didnt matter to me Sanchez didnt throw it, but I would of liked to see 2-4 passes. I was honestly surprised that I saw Ducasse's name, didnt even know he was playing. Slauson still scares me though.

guys this is the NFL. If Mark Brunnell is starting against someone other than Buffalo when they've packed it in, we're fucking toast. Tell me that Mark Brunnell could do anything against a team in the playoffs.... some of you do not think or able to see the fold in this league.

You are right. If Brunell is starting, do the Jets have a chance to win? No.

But if the Jets get a lead and lose Sanchez, Brunell showed he's capable of holding the rope. that's all I was saying.

He filled in for Slauson when slauson came out in the 3rd apparently (didn't catch him at the game myself, read this on here).

Vlad played almost 3 quarters. I liked a lot of what I saw - the guy is extremely quick off the snap. We all hope he takes over for D. Woody at RT for the 2011 season, but part of me believes he will give Slauson some competition at guard in the next training camp.

Granted it was only 1 game, - the last game, vs Buffalo (even though they starters played a lot) ----- I liked what I saw from the undrafted guys we picked up --- Jamaal Westerman, Emanuel Cook, Jarron Gilbert, Josh Mauga.

it seems like mcknight has a bounce prior to his first step similar to chris johnson...he also seemed to be close to breaking a couple yesterday as well...i also liked how when contact was about to be made he used two hands to secure the ball....i can't see him getting any carries on saturday unless we are up big.....that would be nice!!

I agree with you about the undrafted guys - they all seemed to "want the chance" to play and took it with both hands. Hope they can keep on improving for next year.
