Right now, Aaron Rodgers is a better QB than Mark Sanchez. I'm sorry, but as of right now, to say that Aaron Rodgers isn't a better QB than Mark is a ridiculous statement.
Rivers career is made up of what? Beating on Oakland, KC and Denver...? What has he EVER done against the Jets? (i.e. A team from a better division...) I'm not saying he's not a good player. He's not a GREAT player, out of that division, no matter how you slice it. And God forbid, he gets a bad play caller. He could turn into a new version of Early Vinny Testaverde.
He is. By Virtue of play calling. Clearly. Rivers not so much. Rodgers yes. But..if simple Brian grows a Brain, that's where Mark is headed.
Nice dodge to a simple question. In PRESSURE situations against another team...Rivers comes up short. He's NEVER come up big. Penny, Mark, whatever. He comes up small in BIG spots. That's not a QB. At least in Sanchez's defense, he's exceptionally green for an NFL QB, and I think we can all agree the playcalling has been more than weak. Do you seriously mean to assert that with Norv calling plays Sanchez would be at 55% ?
You were the guy that proclaimed McKnight better than Woodhead TODAY, when DW became an every week player. You might want to hold off on the delusional label.. Arte you seriously asserting that Sanchez will not be Rodgers, or Rivers equal? How many starts from High School is he? And you are a serious evaluator of...talent? Today...If you have a big game to play, the smart money is on Sanchez, not Rivers. Rodgers? We'll see. Dispute it if you will...but please...proof?
...and I stand by that. Joe McKnight will be the better player by the end of their careers. Are you joking? You just said that Mark Sanchez is a better quarterback than Philip Rivers. Rivers has thrown for 4,000 or more yards in three straight seasons.
So Rivers having the most yards in the league and his ST fucking him over in this bad season is why he's not good. You're giving shitty generalities of why Rivers isn't good, and they all suck. By your logic, when he beat Peyton Manning in the playoffs he became better than Manning, but losing to Sanchez makes him worse. This is a house-sized amount of fail Hobbes. Let it go.
Typical fan analysis. Whatever an opponent has done against that fans team, that is the judgment on the player alone without looking at an entire body of work.
In a big game...clearly. Mark has performed. Rivers not. And...you clearly don't get the whole argument thing. I threw Woodhead in there to make the point. Over their careers...maybe. But your initial point was that Woodhead would be good because of...what was that word? System? So Sanchez just sucks because Schotty's great? Are you Joking? And Rivers could throw for 5000 yards a season....in the AFC worst. I meant West. But...In what Big spot has he come up big? Sanchez did it last year as a rookie and at least 4 times this year...? Where has Rivers Risen above the moment...that's really my point.. He has not. Ben Does. Brady Does. Manning Does...(Sometimes) Ryan Does... That's the list.
No. Don't make me dig it up admit it. My Question was...Right Now. Tomorrow...In the future. Your answer was affirmative to all 3. Clearly that was not the case.
You're blaming Brian Schottenheimer for Sanchez's inconsistency, right? ...yet, Norv fucking Turner has nothing to do with San Diego's struggles? They have one of the best offenses and best defenses in the NFL and didn't make the playoffs. It has to be Philip Rivers' fault.
Admit what? Danny Woodhead was an afterthought at running back on this roster this year. Joe McKnight was too. He just had a great performance in a meaningless game against a terrible team. I feel great for the kid though - I knew he was capable of doing something like this. Danny Woodhead is good in New England because of the system that he's in. He had the perfect set of skills to succeed in that offense. He's succeeded. Joe McKnight barely got the ball until today. He ran for almost 160 yards behind a second string offensive line. Today, McKnight was better. Today, McKnight showed the world why the Jets cut Danny Woodhead.
Dude, lets agree to disagree. But here's the analogy. THere are 20 better shortstops in MLB than Jeter. There are 100 better hitters. But...2 on 2 down bottom of the ninth. (and i hate the guy) I'd take Jeter. Rivers/Sanchez same thing. Better guy in a tight spot. Period. No Argument. Record Proves it.
By virtue of playcalling? Serious? That's all that's separating Sanchez and Rodgers as QBs, right now? Are you seriously trying to sell the argument that, all other things taken equal, if you switched Sanchez and Rodgers and allowed Sanchez to play with the Packers and their OC and Rodgers to play with the Jets and their OC, Sanchez would have put up the numbers Rodgers did this year and Rodgers would have put up Sanchez's numbers? At this respective point in both QBs careers, it has more to do than just their playcallers. Sanchez has a great arm and he's a very fundamentally sound QB, and I believe he has what it takes to be a great QB in this league. However, as a young 2nd year QB the growing pains with him have been obvious and there are still some parts of his game which are very raw, both physically and mentally. Rodgers has a great arm, has performed at a high level for 3 consecutive years, and is a smart and experienced QB. And he's polished as fuck.
