I don't think Sanchez's poor completion percentage is a product of inaccuracy. He's an accurate quarterback, just streaky/inconsistent, which hopefully will be fixed with experience.
He's an inconsistent, second year quarterback. How do some of you guys not get that? Through 16 games, Sanchez completion percentages have been up and down. You're asking for more than 55%? He had a higher completion percentage than 55% in more than half of his starts this year.
Id assume his completion % includes the many passes he gets batted down @ the line right ? I think a lot of that has to do with inexperience and might not improve his #s that much, but still will help a bit.
Those are considered incomplete passes. He really doesn't have THAT many passes knocked down. Some posters have really blown that out of proportion. Tipped passes happen quite a bit in west coast offenses. Brian Schottenheimer uses a lot of underneath routes. Passes are going to get knocked down/tipped when the routes are so short.
I think the skepticism roots from the fact that his completion percentage puts him behind other young, developing QBs (freeman, bradford both above 60%), and has barely improved from his rookie year (only +1%).
I am a NYJ fan that's posting on a Jets' fan site. You are a NE fan that's posting on a Jets' fan site. It makes sense for me to discuss Mark Sanchez. Not you. Was there no more room on the Patriots' bandwagon or something?
you are the only one telling me that I am not welcome. If I were constantly contributing such insightful comments as "I think Mark Sanchez's a faggot." Then I would expect that. Otherwise, I see no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to discuss with another team's fans when I am bored of pats boards, and so far no mod has seen reason to ban me.
and if you have reason to overlook the fact that Sanchez ranks 30th in the league in completion percentage behind rookies and other second year players, why not make that argument rather than continually reminding me that you know so much more about the team than I do?
Unless you wash Sanchez' balls as often as Mr. Electric you're not allowed to point out flaws. Even if its trying to do so in a constructive way, in a thread specifically for opinions on said player. He knows more than you, don't forget it. His strong arguments consisting of "Tom Brady is a faggot" have convinced me that he knows more about football than we ever can.
Have to agree, that seems rather average, no matter who you're watching almost every game you see 1-2 passes knocked down at the line.
Maybe the skeptics should look at his td/int ratio from last year. That has massively and drastically improved, which is a pretty clear cut sign that he has plenty to improve and learn. Not to mention Freeman and Bradford both had 3 years of college ball. Sanchez had 1. So that actually puts him a year behind both of those guys on the experience scale. Im not saying hes going to turn into the next Peyton Manning, but im pretty sure the guy has thrown less passes (career) than ANYONE in the nfl. And judging by his year to year improvements its difficult to not say its at least somewhat impressive.
