First off as someone else pointed out if we had ABE we would not have Mangold----------that said I liked John alot but bottom line is he could NEVER stay healthy and I always questioned his heart
ps for every game like he had last week against the Saints he had 5 where he was invisavble!
I would rather have a young ---defensive end / linebacker/ pass rusher then John Abraham----hopefully we draft him next spring!

I was pissed when it was rumoured that we were going to release Ellis to make room for Taylor.
You have to love Big Cat. The guy left it all out on the field during his career and I really hope we find a way to have him retire a Jet.

It's sad to see long tenured Jet players starting to slow down. I really hope the Jets catch lightning in a bottle for the playoffs...and win the Super Bowl...so Ellis can retire a champion.

From an opposing fan I always respected him, great, but quiet player.. Alway there doing his job. I equate him to how I used to view Matsui, always hated that fucker when he come up for the Yankees against the Sox ..

Shaun Ellis has been a pleasure to root for, a consummate pro.

I hope Ellis returns for one more season. He is one of my favorite Jets and he has been a life long Jet. Please keep him. That is sentimental talk though and this is a business but still keep him.

I just can't believe we are nearing the end of the careers of players from that 2000 draft. Ellis will always be a favorite of mine and I do think DE will be a priority this off-season so I'd like to thonk we could find a way to bring Ellis back.

I think Ellis can still be effective as a rotational guy....just not an every down lineman.

Plus he provides a veteran presence in the lockeroom.

I hope he comes back next year on a cap friendly deal. :)

It's shocking to me that he's only 32. The wear and tear on him over the years makes it looks like he's 38 out there. His upper body is strong but his legs just don't generate anything (especially speed)... will be sad to see him go, lets get him a ship this year!

Always been a big fan of the Big Kat. Be nice to see him get a ring before his possible exit. If its going to happen, will probably need to be this year, and preferably - with us! :)

Should be ashamed of yourselves, advocating for J-Abe over Ellis. Abe has all the superstar potential and talent. He just doesn't have the same heart as Ellis. Plus, his big, flaming, smelly vag is always stinking up the place when you need him.

-don't think about Abraham for years
-see him have one good game on national television
-forget why we traded him away, and what we got in return
    -bitch and moan

I had to look this up, but I like it and the back story behind it. Very cool.

That's got to be sarcasm. Ellis is by far our best defensive lineman

His play speaks for itself. I'm not looking forward to seeing him leave the team.

I always agreed with you that I'd rather keep Abraham than Ellis, even with all his issues. But Ellis wasn't going to garner a 1st round pick elsewhere, primarily for that reason, he's not as valuable a player. I can't regret the move because we got Mangold. But if we whiffed on that pick, we'd be regretting Abraham a LOT more.

I would love to keep Ellis, just because he has been one of my favorite players over the years. We do need to draft an end though, because Ellis isnt lasting much longer in the NFL.
