Do we "need" to win this game Sunday for momentum??

Yeah, I recall that as well. There are definitely exceptions, don't get me wrong.

Maybe the key to it is that you just go one way or the other. Either play the whole game to win it, or treat it like the last preseason game and mail it in. Last season the Patriots had nothing to gain going into Week 17 and played the Texans. When Welker got hurt, I think Belichick got a little gun-shy and he basically pulled starters a few minutes into the 4th quarter. Didn't make sense to me. Either do it or don't, you know?

Fair point, but at this stage of the season everyone's pretty banged up, LOL!

No. We need to call every dlineman we have on the roster including the practice squad and use this bills game as open tryouts in hopes for a solution to our lack of pass rush!!!

Good point. I think the Bengals did the same against us last game of the season last year. They came in saying they were playing. Then you heard some reports they weren't playing their starters. Lots of indecision then we give them a beat down in the first half and they try to sell it as they weren't playing and pull their starters in the 3rd quarter. I think we were a better team then them anyway at that point but I don't think they ever recovered from that.

I don't see how you have momentum after 6-7 days off...

Momentum only works inside of a game...

I agree with this to some extent. I still don't think Sanchez should play more than three quarters regardless and it would be smart to give Brunell some snaps, but treating this as a preseason game by resting everyone will do little to clean up all the mistakes from the Bears game that Rex claims are fixable.

I guess a lot of it depends on how bad that tear is in his shoulder, and whether or not he can do any further (significant) damage to it by playing?

The Jets are just such an emotional team... they sort of live and die by it. Which is why I was leaning toward having them go all-out to end the season with a win, even if it's just the Bills.

You guys were DEFINITELY better than the Bungles, last year, the year before that, the year before that... LOL!

But we're in agreement here. Either go for the win or pull it back 100%. Getting wishy-washy may result in ending up with the worst of both ends of it. (Injuries plus a loss.)

No. We don't need momentum. We'll be playing backups a lot. If we lose, we lose. A win would be better because you always want to win, and we still could get the 5 seed if results fall our way. But we don't "need" it, and I don't believe in momentum from this game.

If Rex calls the team out to put on the practice pads and work on the fundamentals at this stage in the season, then keep the starting packages playing until the shit gets figured out. If it only takes the first half of the Bills game, then great. They earned it.

But if your going to rest them, rest them. Didn't get the impression that Rex was targeting a light practice week.

The only thing winning last week and this week would do would be give us a better reg season record. The O is playing well which is important, I would like to see the D play well BUt all that really matters is that they play well next weekend and beyond.

Ther Saints lost their last 3 last year, it didn't affect them in the playoffs.

I'm not a believer in this momentum crap when your last game is against a horrible football team.

The Colts rested their players at the end of last year and lost both games, had a bye and look where they went. Saints ended last year badly as mentioned already.

Giants in 07 lost 2 of their last 3, 3 of their last 6, and 4 of their last 8. Is that momentum?

2006 Colts lost 3 of their last 5.

Once this Sunday is over it's a brand new season.

For me is more important to have all players in perfect conditions for wildcard than "momentum". Obviously we can be #5, but I can't see Pittsburg loosing this sunday, so let the most important players rest and focus in KC.

On the other hand, It is Buffalo, we can win with the worse players of our roster.

rest every player over 30 or injured.

if anything, play them only the first series or don't even dress them at all, giving tons of roster spots to the connors, mcknights, and wilsons of the team.

as others have already said, the BEST scenario would be to rest our banged up players AND still beat the bills like a red headed step child with our 2nd string.
