Straight up you suck. You are too stupid to understand a simple concept............. But I knew you were an idiot going in, so it's on me for even replying to a tard like you in the first place. BTW If you light yourself on fire, anyway possible, then this season would definitely be a success.
Calm down...what's the concept again? More wins=better team? I get it, I just don't agree. Pretty good for a 'tard, huh? Now, instead of calling you names, I'll ask you the same thing I asked Jake... How is this years team better than last years at this point in the season?
can anyone explain revis terrible tackling this past week? he really looked like a bull fighter on a couple of tackle attempts. i mention it because it is very odd for him not to be a good tackler, he always comes up and makes the hit and takes the guy down. this past week he looked more like cromo than revis.
I do think it's funny that Marcus Dixon got his first sack before Gholston. lol Ryan did say they would try some personnel changes to combat the run and pass. Obviously he must have gotten the personnel packages mixed up because Forte ran untouched mostly and the pass D was the worst I've ever seen in giving up the long play.
The offense is MUCH, MUCH better. Well Mark Sanchez is, we no longer are using him to avoid a loss we are using him to get the win. Last years defense has us on all major stats but this year, we lead the league in 3 and outs, have a better give/take stat-line.
I'm diggin' Sanchez's play this year. Still a little up & down, but he's got chops. Frankly, I'm more concerned with the coaching staff than the players. Seems like we've been in every game (except one). I really hope Rex can whip these guys into shape for a decent run.
Here is how I see the comparison between last year and this year for the Jets entering the playoffs. a) First off I’ll dismiss next week game as an additional data point. It truly means nothing. We are better off resting our banged up defense and give some guys in the bubble for next year an opportunity to shine in case they are needed in the playoffs. b) Sad as it might be Gholston improvement from last year to this year in limited action has surpassed the rest of the D’s improvement. Not one defensive player in my view has surpassed his performance of last year. Pace, Thomas, Ellis have all lost a step and along with the rest of the front 7 seems like they have been hampered by a combination of fundamental and technique gaffs aggravated by plain fatigue. Even Devito and Pouha while holding the fort are struggling at times. Quite frankly, our defense seems exhausted and out of place by the 4th quarter. Poor tackling is evident. We are showing signs of age and that is bad news going into the payoffs. We don’t have that ability to generate turnovers like we did last year. c) It is not all on the players. Some schemes seem pretty sad to me. Taylor on a running back down field, gaps in the middle of the field for TEs to roam and get plenty of separation, and weakness by the safeties where at times they seem like they are lost in space. We are not at this point nearly as effective defensively as last year. I don’t think we are adjusting the schemes to suit the player’s strength and mitigate the D weaknesses. d) The bright light is our offense. I think overall we are better and have now the ability to strike from everywhere. I should hope we can continue to stop making mistakes and control the clock with long scoring drives. We cannot depend on the D like we did last year. Offense must take on a larger role. e) We are less effective on special teams than last year. That might bite us in the end. f) I had great hopes for this year’s team but I underestimated the weaknesses in the D. Hopefully we go into KC with a rested, well focused D and beat them at their game. g) Next year, youth in the defense, a pass rusher and a FS is a must.
I disagree with BT loosing a step. He has had a better year than last year. With the addition of Taylor his snaps have been reduced but his production has improved. He has 3 times the number of sacks he had last year and he's not in a lot of the 3rd down packages.
This year's team made the playoffs without needing Peyton Manning to sit in the middle of a game. The offense is actually functional this year but the defense is worse. Has the offense improved more than the defense has regressed? That's tough to say but this team is certainly more balanced than last year's team.
I agree with some of what you're saying, but I don't think Thomas has lost a step - he's no all-star but he's actually having a decent year. Ellis might be, but for the most part he's still playing at a high level. He had 3.5 sacks through week 4, before he hurt his knee, which is really good considering what he does. IMO he's been pretty solid all year (except against the Steelers.. he looked a little slow that game). Also, I'm not sure why you say even Pouha and Devito are struggling at times.. they're not great players. Yes, they stepped up when we needed them, but they're probably the two weakest links in the front 7, not counting Pace.
