Calvin Pace broke his foot and it has held him back all year. He's not the same player as a year ago. Bryan Thomas is a year older and slower, same for Shaun Ellis who appears to be breaking down. Jason Taylor wasn't here last year, but he's also a year older and slower than he was.. he is still capable of a big player here and there but overall he just doesn't look like he has much left.

Coleman isn't as good in the slot as Strickland as for us last year, and our safety play isn't nearly as good as it was, with Leonhard hurt and Rhodes being swapped out for Pool and Smith.

Damn straight, and if we get as far in the playoffs I'll be fucking ecstatic...
Hmmm, but with your logic, we need to win the AFC title to be better than last year.

Seriously though, if Ryan & Co. can whip the team into shape in the next two weeks, that'll be awesome.
It's not like we need to win 5 straight road games against top flight teams.
    Just 4.

I still say we rest our starters week 1 next season.
    Because it's different.

Might as well give it a try. LOL.

Simply put: this defense is inconsistent; they will follow up a dominant outing by getting torched every time. It happens to a lot of other teams' defenses as well, and with the parity in the NFL one with realistic expectations isn't surprised.

We clearly need to draft some passrushers though, imo.

Thanks. I've been a Jets fan since the late 60's.
Writ in stone when they actually won a Trophy instead of talking about it.

    I got's patience up the yin-yang.
    Comes with the territory.

My logic was using the regular season record. Let me check.........yep no mention of playoffs.

I don't think this team is getting to the AFCCG this year. Never thought they would.

I still think this season will ultimately be a success. I think the Jets have seen their flaws and if they fix them, then for sure the season is what it is, a stepping stone.

I suppose lighting my hair on fire and run around in panic would be fun though.

But they had a game on national TV earlier in the year and their passing O didn't look good, so I am going to formulate my opinion based off of 2 quarters of a Week 2 game and state it as fact.

When they start handing out trophies for regular season wins, let me know.

Straight up...your logic sucks for too many reasons to type.

But it is pretty ballsy of you to predict a successful season. Sure you don't want to wait till after the Bills game to make that call?

The hair lighting thing does sound like fun, but I have a shaved head. Can I light my farts on fire instead?

Rome wasn't built in a day, man. Building a winner takes time, and we obviously have to address a few things. I guess the NYJ aren't for you if you demand a winner right this instant.

If Sanchez progresses some more in Year 3, then we can expect long-term success.

I've said numerous times that this team needs more time to be a contender.
And Sanchez is the least thing I'm concerned with when it comes to that.

I'm not demanding an instant winner.
I want to see improvement. Not in the number of wins, but in the field play.

Honestly, do you think this team is better right now than last years team at week 15? And if so, please enlighten me Jake, so I can stay a Jet fan.

Because Sanchez is better, and because our passrush weakness has been uncovered, our team will be better for it in the grande scheme of things. Remember, most of this roster is from the EM/MT era.

You may stay a Jet fan.

I recall talking about the clear lack of pass rush against the Colts in AFCGG last year - and Jets FO did absolutely nothing to address that issue to my knowledge (no DL pick nor OLB pick to help the team, not to mention FA acquisition that was hampered by that retard rule)

They chose to address the offense (Holmes, LT, McKnight, Ducasse); they also traded picks for Edwards and Cro. Most of the fan base agreed that the Offense needed the most attention following the 09 campaign..... There's only so much you can do in one offseason.

Now it's pretty clear what needs to be adressed this offseason.

Go right ahead typical football fan that wants to argue with nothing but ESPN analyst bullshit that they were half listening to and go get some stats from NFL.com to support a weak claim.

This is why it is particularly discomforting.

During Mangini era, except Gholston, Jets drafted at least 2 instant contributors in the early rounds each year. In the first year of Ryan's reign, Jets have not found any meaningful contributors at any level. To me, projects and non-starters are for 3rd round and after. You MUST find an instant contributors in the day 1 picks. It's not like Jets didn't have a glaring need either. Kyle Wilson? He should have solidified the shaky secondary *after Revis and Cro* but instead he's still in the dog house.

If this keeps up this year again, Jets will start drifting away. The team has obvious weakness, and you must address it somehow; if the drafted players are a few years away like Vlad, then he's not really filling the need.

Sanchez? Greene? Weren't they instant contributors? This year we got jackshit out of our draft picks which is definitely dissapointing, but only time will tell if Ducasse, McKnight, and Wilson pan out. As much as I hate to bring up that term, it IS a process.

So you're saying that we're a better team because now we know exactly why we suck?

That's a relief. I thought you were gonna use the old "we won more regular season games than last year, so we must be better" logic on me.

I don't need to imagine it. He did in one of the last two games and got pump faked out his shoes. If you take a guy like Cro out of coverage you need to be fairly sure he is going to make a play on the QB. I wouldn't bet on that happening.

Just tell Cromartie that the opposing quarterback is one of his baby mamas looking for more child support. He'll put him right on his ass.

If you're going to do a CB blitz then you have to send Revis, if he has an opening, he gets the sack, hands down.
