It seemed like had it been thrown a little higher that Holmes would have caught it and from what I saw Holmes had nothing between him and the endzone but grass
It was just a misread against a creative coverage. If he had seen that the safety was keying on Holmes he could have pumped and put it over the top. He thought the safety was playing the deep zone in a cover 2 so he tried to zip it in underneath the safety.
It was Shotty calling 10 yard outs  ftr, Shotty called a great game until the 4th quarter...I can't fault Mark for that throw because he pretty much has to force everything at that point
Simms summed it up best. The safety there only has to cover that side of the field. We were at a point where they knew we had to work the sidelines or deep over the middle. Urlacher basically dropped back to cove the middle so sanchez's look off didn't get the desired effect on the safety. I think the throw would have hit him in stride and had to Be thrown like that to have any chance to complete it. With the situation we were in there is just such a small window there to try and fit that pass in. He almost got it in there but give chicago credit they played it well.
I believe there was some pressure on that play which is why Sanchez forced it. Good job by the Bears, if Sanchez saw the safety he could have gone over the top to Holmes just like the TD where there would have been nobody.
It was a good jump by the safety and basically we had little choice but to go for big plays with little time and no timeouts. Against a defense like the bears that's usually nor going o end well. The first down we gave up to forte and their excellent punt was what did us in at the end
Does it really matter? Sanchez had one of the best games of his career and we found a way to lose it. You can pin the loss on a lot of different things in this game - but pretty much none of them should include Sanchez.
Mightve thrown it a bit higher but who knows what Sanchez was feeling at that point with the shoulder or what limitations he had with throwing. Still had a heck of a game and wasnt the problem.
I don't think he misread the coverage. I think he had to force it in there. The only way he could throw to the middle of the field was if he had someone open very deep. There was no time to throw short in the middle of the field.
No, I'm pretty sure he threw the game-losing pick. Might have been some sort of mis-communication or something, but it is what it is.
Well if it was against cover 2 it would have worked perfectly. It really doesn't matter since Jax lost and you have Tom Brady.
So let me make sure I get this right - If Sanchez does not throw that pick the Jets win the game. Thanks for enlightening me, I did not know that. Wait -let me think about that. Sanchez threw the "GAME-LOSING PICK". No - I am pretty sure the Jets were losing the game already. The pick wasn't run back to change the score from us winning to losing. I also think we had less than a minute with no timeouts and had to get into the endzone to win. I have been watching Football for over 40 years and I can tell you with certainty even the best of the best qb's to have ever played FAIL to get in the endzone in that situation way more often than they lead the comebacks. The Houston game is not going to happen all the time and Chicago's defense is not Houston's Really - the game losing pick, the fucking moronic statements on this site sometimes are fucking absurd. Sanchez was a stud today - get over it
