We would need the Patriots to lose to the Bills and Dolphins. The Patriots have to go to Bufallo. The Bills lost last time 38-30 to the Patriots. The Bills seemed to have improved a lot since that last meeting. Buffalo proved trouble for the Steelers and forced them into overtime. If the Bills offense can get going, they could get in a shoot out like Green Bay last night and may actually end up on top.

Now on the other hand, the Dolphins who are 5-1 on the road are heading to New England week 17, might have nothing to play for but Coach Sparano is under heavy fire. His job is basically on the line the next two weeks. Especially with the reports that Cowher would coach the Dolphins, Sparano will be coaching for his job. The Dolphins will be playing an actual game and just not give it away.

I know it it is a very longshot, but after last night I do believe theirs still a chance. Its very small though. I am not expecting it to happen though, but would be very happy if it did.

It's possible, but as you said, quite a long shot. If the Pats lost yesterday, it would have still been possible. Either way, I don't really trust this team at home, so IDK if them getting the 5 or 6 seed would be so horrible.

It's pretty remote, but you never know. division games can be surprising. We need it to happen to them twice though and not to us.

Had New England lost last night I'd have sent in my playoff money just in case, it's due Wednesday, but now I'm going to wait.

I don't think I want us at home or with a bye week, frankly.

I don't think the outcome of yesterday's game mattered. AT ALL. We would have still needed the Patriots to lose to the Bills and Dolphins. The Division is the tie breaker.

If the Patriots end up 12-4 (3-3) in the divison we would win it if we ended up tied. (lose next two games)

If the Patriots lost yesterday but ended up 12-4 they would be 4-2 in the division.(lose to Greenbay but beat the Bills or Dolphins)

Yesterday's game had no effect at all I don't believe. If anything it helped us. The Patriots NEVER lose 3 in a row.

You are correct. All last night means is that they aren't going to lose all three and the division outright, which we knew. Now the worst they can do is tie us, but like you said if that happens we'll have tie-breaker.

Thats not true that game did mean something. If we ended up tied it would come down to tie breakers.

If we both ended up 12-4. We would have a 4-2 division record and if the Pats had lost to the packers and lost to one of the bills or dolphins they would be 12-4 with a 4-2 division record.

At this point it comes into a whole bunch of tie breaker scenarios. Where a loss to the Packers comes into play for the Pats because we lost to the packers.

I think the 1st tie break goes to conference play which we would also be tied with the Pats because we lost to the Ravens and they lost to the Browns. Everything else would be the same.

The following tie breakers I believe is common opponents which again we would be tied because we lost to the Packers and they would have also.

At this point I am not sure where the tie breakers go. Possible points for and against

This is 100% correct. Our only chance at the division was a Packers win last night, and a fluke loss to the Fish. If that had lost last night and beat the Fish then beat the Bills, assuming 12-4 (4-2) for both teams, I am pretty sure they would get us on common opponents (by sweeping the Fish).

There is no way they lose back to back to the Fish and Bills unless Brady breaks his neck.

The tie breaker would go to strength of victory which the Pats would destroy us in. They beat the Colts, Chargers, Packers while we beat Houston and the Broncos. That game last night helped us cause Patriots wont lose 3 times in a row and Pats losing would not have helped us in any way!

Anything can happen of course but I think Belichick is treating last nights game as if they lost plus the team remembers how close the 1st game was Buffalo. I think they'll come to play and execute much better then last night.

I guess you haven't heard of law of averages. I'll take a first week bye, plus home field through out the playoffs no matter wat my record might be.

Yup he treats almost every game like its a loss.Humble pie is all he knows and quite frankly thats the only way to get better!Hopefully he lets them enjoy the victory for the duration of the Sunday though.
