That's called playing football. Both teams are beat up and dealt with terrible officiating. Jets won in all three phases. Give them their due and stop making excuses.
You also said that not having Polamalu and Miller was the reason you lost. Fact is, the Steelers lost the game on the field. Regardless of where the points came from. That's called stating a FACT. Jets played better that the Steelers today. Simple as that. Not the Jets OFFENSE played better, or the Jets DEFENSE, or SPECIAL TEAMS, or coaches, but the JETS. As a team. Steelers are a hell of team. To beat good teams, you need a full-team effort. Now that's a fact.
SC96, nothing but great posts from you as usual. What a game today, it literally came down to :02, and our defense prevailed. It's expected because they are the home crowd, but the booing early on looking for penalties annoyed me. You guys aren't the Pats, you can't control the refs  .
As I pointed out in a couple of pregame threads, get Sanchez into a rhythm. Quick drops, slants, dumps, etc.... It opened everything else up for them, including the running game IMO.
Yep, don't think they got called for a penalty until the last few minutes...jets best team on the day.
I don't know, people seem to mention that, but there's a lot of backhanded compliments and excuses in pretty much all of his posts here. We get it dude, you missed players that are big keys to your team, we got 'em too. And if the Steelers won I wouldn't be mentioning all the players we're missing. We beat the players the Steelers suited up. End of story...
Actually the Steelers offense out produced the Jets today. More passing yards, more rushing yards, more time of possession. The Jets won in one phase, Special teams, and it was the difference in the game.
Actually the Jets won the game thats all that matters. The Steelers played a good game, the Jets played a better one. The Steelers got the ball to start the 2d half, they executed a nice drive for a TD and they never scored again the rest of the football game despite having 4 more possessions. So you can trash the Jets D, but when this game was on the line the Jets D scored 2 pts and didn't allow another point. Meanwhile the Jets offense scored 10 pts unanswered. The teams were even in the first half and the Jets won the 2d half.
lolololol theres no way he has worse kickoffs than nick folk. it seemed to me after the opening kickoff he kicked em high and short to prevent another return.
except for the first one. my view was that it was done to prevent him from getting momentum and room to break off another big return.
I didn't trash the Jets defense. They kept the Jets in position to win the game. They also did a good job of letting the Steelers march right down the field and nearly win the game. I'm referring to the previous poster who said the Jets were better in all three phases of the game. The Steeler D only gave up 13 points. The Jets D gave up 17, but did add a safety. The Steelers outgained the Jets. None of this matters as you wisely pointed out because only the W and L matter. I'm just pointing out that the previous poster who said the Jets were better in all three phases of the game is not accurate.
If you're going to make a congratulatory thread with a title referencing the jets making the bigger plays then you'd be smart to leave it at just that. Don't start marginalizing the victory because of a few plays. You may not think the jets would have won but that doesn't change the fact that the jets did win. I'd rather not read anything than have to sit here and read through a series of backhanded compliments.
You're such a troll. You make a "congratulatory" post on a Jets forum so you can feel like a good sport, but you (subtly) never mention the Jets *earned* the W. Instead you make excuse after excuse about your own team and then attempt to knock our effort. And I wasn't referring to the box-score when I said we won in all three phases. I was referring to the fact that no single phase let the other two down (as has normally been the case this season). So enjoy your stats, we'll take the W. And GTFO.
Guys, he's a Steeler fan anayzing a very close game that his team could have won. Wouldn't you think the same way: "Great game but..." It's an obvious reaction for every fan out there. I'd rather have that than the Phins trolls. And it's kinda true that the game was won by the Special Teams, but they are part of the game as well, it's not that we didn't merit the win.
This isn't an analysis thread. This thread was started as a 'well, shucks guys.. congrats you deserved the win because you made the big plays' But it turned into, "yeah, ya won but this and that happened and if it didnt you wouldnt have won"
SC, I have a lot of respect for you on this board..but you kinda lose it if you didnt see that Revis play as picture perfect. They showed every angle of that play and it was perfect. I agree with your views of the game but that play should be a video for every young cb coming into the league. It was perfect.
After reading the entire thread...have to agree with the backhanded compliment posters. The team that should have won that game won the game. The fact that you were missing some players...have you seen all players we are missing? Its December in the NFL. Thats life.
