Manning isn't done yet and Sanchez has more upside than any other young QB (save Ryan and Bradford)

If you're talking strictly potential/upside, then I'd rate Freeman and Stafford above Sanchez as well.

Oh yes. That's why you always see posts from me where I list Jeff George among the top 5 QBs of all-time.

What have Stafford and Freeman done to prove they have more upside than Sanchez?

    They've done nothing...especially Matthew Stafford.

Since when is potential based strictly on production?

I'm not basing it on production. I'm basing it on the fact that almost every time Stafford goes on the field, he gets helped off.

    Winning is also a plus.

Rick Sanchez has more upside than Mark sanchez. Probably a stronger and more accurate arm too. Whats next eric Smith is the best cover safety in the Nfl.

Right, which would be his downside and also the reason I think it's fair to rate both Freeman and Sanchez ahead of him overall.

Matt Stafford has a world of potential but he has to show the ability to stay on the field. Sanchez took some brutal hits this year and hasn't missed a snap.

You can't accurately say anything good about Stafford until he takes off the Fragile handle with care stickers.

Unfortunately it is rather tough to shed a fragile label. Players that get injured easy are a recurring story. Look @ Jenkins, doesn't matter freak injuries seem to follow him. It is a weird trait and one that almost never goes away.

I know you can't accurately rate Stafford with his injury issues. He doesn't deserve to be on the board when making these lists IMO.

One of the most underrated aspects of playing QB is the ability to take the wallops and keep getting back up. He hasn't shown that he can do that. Brittle? Bad luck? It frankly doesn't matter. He needs to find a way to stay on the field.

But when talking about potential/upside, there aren't very many QBs that have his natural ability.

Well, its no where near a lost cause. Stafford's barely even been in the league.

Look at a guy like Matt Schaub. His first two years in Houston, he missed a good handful of games because of injuries. They were on things like cheap hits, late hits, etc...but he was missing time nonetheless. He was being labeled "Mr. Glass".

He played all 16 games last year and hasnt missed a game this year...showing that those injuries that happened to him previously were more flukes than anything.

And he's been consistently awesome during that time span as well! :eek:hmy:

I watched the Rams game today...admittedly, I havent watched a full game of Bradford this season, just bits and pieces. I see the potential in him...but I definitely do not see, in any way, how the guy is a top 10 QB today...which was what I was looking for when starting this thread.

You guys really think he's that good this season?
