Well what I heard is "we need to fix the problem". I heard that at press conferences after they won too.

Not for nothing but Rex needs to just shut the fuck up and get this team ready to play football.
If i'm Woody Johnson i'm calling Rex in my office this morning and asking him why, in the biggest game of the season, our team didn't come ready to play.

Postgame press conferences are as common as anything. It is always done. Just like postgame interviews. Should he just look like a coward and not face the press.

His first statement was they got outcoached and outplayed. He was honest and to the point.

His statement about playing them again was just a remark about you have to get up and try again.

At least he can't crow about being "the best team in football because our record says so". There's been a sense of urgency that's been missing this season. The Jets sleep-walked their way through several games against shitty teams. It's almost like they think that just because they have a good record, they don't have to show up each week.

I cannot believe there is hate on Rex. AYFKM???

He finally gives this team an identity and he is different from any other coach. I don't want him to shut up - I want him to be himself and keep driving his players the way he does.

Last night was an embarrassment but it might be a wake up call or the kick in the ass this team needed.

I want Rex as my coach and I want him to be himself. I don't want anyone else leading this team.

He is who he is and at least he is consistent. No faking it, he talks how he talks, people are going to have to get used to it or stop watching.

He is a good coach and has done some good things, but last night was not one of them. How they respond will be key this week. A win this week and the SOJF will relax a bit.

I like Rex. I really do. However; I think he could be just as good a HC without all the weekly nonsense through the media. A lot of his comments just make me cringe.

As good of an X's and O's guy as he is, I think there is a reason why teams like the Ravens passed him up for HC'ing opportunities. I'm sure that some organizations just don't want to have to deal with the constant "damage control".

    What "damage control".

Woody loves him because he is a promoter, sells the team, gets the name in the papers. And he won a few games in between.

I totally agree. The coach and all the players just need to shut up and stop giving quotes to the other team.

I mean, why did Holmes say that you needed someone with experience to cover him? What benefit does that serve except to rile the other team.

Was it a surprise that McCourty did the Holmes' routine (Jet Plane celebration) after the interception?

They need to take tips from Jeter & Brady when it comes to doing press conferences. Don't give the other team anything to use as bulletin board material.
