Collinsworth has it wrong. A hit on a player defined as defenseless can be flagged regardless of whether or not it's a hit with the helmet or not.
not a big surprise there (announcers seemed to think it was), going for it was definitely the right decision. 4th and short, punter injured, across midfield and redding jumped. First down pitt
Collinsworth got something right. That definitely should have been a flag, and it's mind boggling that the refs didn't throw one.
So I'm not an expert on the helmet to helmet/defenseless receivers rules but that looks like it should have been flagged.
yet another horrible hit on a defenseless player. Obviously many defensive players simply don't care about the rules, or about potentially putting someone in the hospital.
It's mind boggling to me that the refs aren't calling these penalties. They've been quick to call them all year and today they decide to hold on to the flags?
