Gronkowski has his first and only good game a couple of weeks back and all of a sudden he's unstoppable lol

    Pats fans crack me up

I'm in awe that we are getting the Charger's fans argument about large men overpowering Revis from Pats fans. They obviously were too stupefied to watch the Jets vs Chargers divisional game last year.

Someone bring back BOOMheadshot so he can tell us about how the bolts will "out tall" us again...

    His only outstanding game reception-wise.

He has done a great job every game this season in run blocking and pass-protection (i.e. being physical with linemen and linebackers) so pardon us for being a bit skeptical when it comes to this plan to smother him with a physical CB.

revis needs to dover welker and not let him kill us. welker owned cro the 1ts game. revis on welker and the i'd put cro on a TE and wilson on a TE and use coleman to cover branch.

We'll see what happens in the EZ. Revis can climb him like a tree, but if Brady goes high with the pass, my money is on Gronk to come down with it. Kid's got great hands in tight situations.

While I agree that the TEs are a major concern in this game, don't forget about Welker...

Let them release Gronkowski and have him catch his 5 yard passes while Tom Brady eats turf

I'd be pretty psyched if Rex is dumb enough to waste Revis covering either Hernandez or Gronkowski. The Patriots could still win big with neither of those guys making any significant contributions. Unfortunately, he's not that dumb.

Most of you are looking at this totally the wrong way. The Patriots, by design, don't have one or two guys who you have to try to stop. I would put Revis on whoever lines up on his side, and Cromartie on whoever lines up on his side. Play it straight up. The Jets are still easily good enough to win this game without having to "blanket" or shut down any one single player. That's not how the Pats' offense is put together, and it wouldn't work.

I think it was more like he had his one terrible rookie-like game against Cleveland. He has 6 TD catches. That's not chopped liver.

half came in 1 game. the other's he had like 1 reception for 12 yards and a touchdown.

does that mean he's a redzone threat? Yes...

does that mean he'll blow up for 100 yards and 3 scores? No.

he's "ok". not something you need to extensively gameplan for. especially between the 20's. Hernandez poses a bigger matchup problem if anything

Yep. Which is something the Pats have definitely needed. Hernandez is dangerous too but I think Gronkowski is the better blocker so....

Since the Pat's fans have clarified to all of us that our Db's have little chance of stopping their WR's and TE'S let's change gears and let them inform us on how their vaunted secondary is going to stop the likes of Braylon, Santonio, Keller, LT and Smith...

It's true.. The patriots offense is composed of average talent. There is no linchpin that can be stopped to shut them down like Moss had been in the past. The scheme is predicated on short, quickly developed routes + YAC. It's a numbers advantage, not a talent advantage.

Brady is the reason that scheme works, if you transferred Woodhead, BJGE, Hernandez, Gronkowski, and Edelman to another team I doubt they'd even see playing time. In that sense the Patriots are the ultimate offensive team, with the Colts and Chargers being in that same breadth, but is only possible with elite qb's.
