-move the chains -keep the ball out of bradys hands -eat the clock -wear down the defense -suck the linebackers and safeties down into the box -set up the play action for Sanchez, where he is at his best Our run game was spectacular the first half of the season, and has slowed a little since. I see big games out of BOTH LT and Greene. We all know LT hates NE and is hungry, and Greene will run right through a tired Pats defense. Hopefully the line is opening up big holes all game.
All good points, but I say we come out flinging. Line up Keller, Cotchery (hopefully?), Holmes, and Edwards against that secondary and don't try to fool anyone. Slants, crossing routes, deep outs and back shoulder throws...Sanchez has thrived off the simple stuff and with our playmakers there's no need to get tricky against this really young and inexperienced Patriots secondary. If we come out and just hit them with the passing attack, they won't know what hit them. Get up early and then go back to the running game, and go with a steady mix of Greene, LT, and play action the rest of the game. But we have to get out early in Foxboro and establish the tempo for the game.
I think the Jets will be able to run it and throw it and pretty much do whatever they want against that defense.
Run game will be important as the game progresses but I want to see an air it out offense to start the game. 1st and 10 bomb to Braylon or 25 yard slant pattern to Santonio. It will really put the D on edge to start the game and hopefully a td or big play out of it.
A good running game is the same as stopping Brady, because it makes him wait longer to get on the field. It also makes him less patient because he feels he needs to make each series count, which causes mistakes and INT's.
It's simple really... Just have Brad Smith run back every kick for a touchdown. Geez...you guys overthink everything.
Hahahahahaha. Funny shit. Attack that shitty secondary. 6 has earned the opportunity to step up in games such as these and he has the weapons. Jets didn't have Santonio last time.
im not saying dont pass at all, but the rest of our offense and our defense hinges on the run. especially this game. against pittsburg its a whole different story.
the jets should be able to do whatever they want against the Pats last ranked defense. Run, pass, screen, move the ball down the field. This game comes down to two things for the Jets on offense - NO TURNOVERS and TOUCHDOWNS NOT FIELD GOALS!!
No doubt. I'm just glad that Schotty's got all this extra time to think about all of this. I hope that we come out flying, let Sanchez build some confidence and put all this 'lucky' talk to bed once and for all.
Yes, he is. I agree with establishing the run if the Pats give it to us, but if they're stacking the box like some other teams have been, I see no reason not to air it out and test their corners a bit. Limit mistakes and don't give the ball away and we can definitely move on their defense on way or the other. The key will be getting TDs rather than settling for FGs in their end of the field. Edit: ultra ninja'd by SettlerDawg, but the point is worth reiterating.
