Lowery does play safety but yeah leonhard will probably be on the field. I still don't see your worry. The Jets play 6 DB's all the time. One of their TE's will have a nice game and be their leading receiver and most of their offense.
I think this is probably the best answer. We probably aren't going to STOP both TE's. Last game Hernendez had almost 100 and a TD, but they only scored 14. I'm fine with that.
The best way to stop their TE's is to never give them the ball to begin with. The Jets need to run the ball successfully on them and just move the chains through the air, burning as much clock as possible. When Brady is standing on the sidelines he's not completing passes to his TE's or anybody else.
in certain situations. but in others, Leonhard would be in the box, essentially as a LB. But another way to run it, would be Leonhard + Lowery playing Hernandez (pool off the field) and then Wilson 1 on 1 against Gronkowski. Personally I think that Wilson matches us better with the bigger TE's who are not very fast. Wilson has the anticipation skills to jump their routes, and if he guesses wrong, he is so much faster he can recover if he guesses wrong. Also I believe it was Gronkowski who Wilson was on early in week 2, and he has knocked passes away from Heap and a couple other "bigger" TE's this season.
That's pretty much how I see it. Like we should really give a shit if Gronkowski or Hernandez goes for 96 yards and a TD when rest of the offense accounts for about 100-150 yards.
I know this term is blasphemy but, zone? None of the Pats WR's are dominant #1's in the sense of the word. Don't even man up Revis or Cro.. send them on some blitzes. Spice things up.
Normally I would say you have to get to Brady also, but based on our pass rushing abilities this year I would rule that possibility out. The inability to get to the QB is a real problem against the Pats. Give Brady time and he will torch you over and over again. Gotta find a way to put him on his back somehow.
Probably a good possibility but they need to be heavy zone blitzes. Our 4 man pass rush won't get it done and Brady eats zone for breakfast when he has time to throw the ball.
The 6 and 7 man blitzes serve us well against the Pats for a few reasons. One is that the Pats like to put tons of guys out into routes because Brady is awesome and will pick D's apart with all those options. You blitz and they need to keep guys into block and all of a sudden Brady has 3 options instead of 5, 2 of them covered by Cro and Revis. If they stick 5 guys into the route one of the blitzers drops of into coverage and the Jets win the numbers game at the line and get pressure on Brady. Rex has made his life miserable in 2 out of 3 meetings. I think he will do it again.
The Jets played more zonish at the end of the game and threw Brady off completely. The key is not giving him clear looks one way or the other. Wilson has done ok against TE's. He neutralized Heap and Hernandez in the second half of those corresponding games. The Jets are perfectly equipped to handle TE's when they match up and game plan for them. To be honest, I don't think the Jets game planned very well for Dreessen and as a result got out coached in that area. I do not think they are going into the Pats game over looking Hernandez/Gronkowski/Crumpler. No way that happens.
It wouldn't be surprising to see Revis on Branch and Cromartie on Hernandez. I doubt the Jets fear Tate, and Welker is nowhere near the threat he used to be without Moss stretching the defense. The Pats really don't have that home run threat anymore. They are dink and dunk down the field now. The Jets are gonna have to play up and jam these receivers, with the safeties up close, and roll the dice they don't get beat over the top.
Yeah I think you're right. Rex realizes that all road to the Superbowl are going through a bigtime QB like Brady or Manning, and built this team to neutralize that (see Cromartie and Revis). Now that Brady doesn't have a deep threat (Moss) he has become somewhat predictable. But predictability is only a problem if they can stop what you predictably do, and most teams haven't done that this season besides the Jets. It's gonna be a hell of a game.

Your right, we need to account for the great white hope, Danny Woodhead. Starter and key player for the Pats, buried on the depth chart and expendable on the Jets.
I will say this, I have never seen a QB more visibly shaken by sacks and pressures than Brady. It could be from fear of re-injury to his knee but he really responds badly to being pressured. That is his biggest achilles heel. He fully expects to have all day to throw the ball and when he doesn't get it he really loses his cool and begins to faulter.
