I'm going to ignore any analysis of Folk that counts the 61-yard attempt in Miami as an actual realistic attempt.
Try making that kick knowing that if you miss it you may get fired from your job. Or at least someone on a message board will start a thread saying you should get fired. The pressure professional sports people play under is unbelieveable. That's why you keep hearing "in practice he was making them from 60 yards straight down the middle", then in the game he just sneaks a 35-yarder through. Pressure changes everything.
You and friends also long snap, hold, and have other friends 6'4" rushing with all they have to block it all within a second or two?
which is a very misleading statistic because he has attempted more FGs than any kicker in the NFL not named Janikowski or Carpenter.
Folk was 3/3 on XPs and 3/4 on FGs. He missed the 53ydr but was otherwise money all day, scoring 12 pts for the J-E-T-S !
53 yarder was right on line and about 2 feet short too so it's hard to hold that one against him. He looked solid today.
I agree, Football fans lead with their emotions not their head, these type of threads start after every bad game a player has. Wasn't there a Cotchery should be benched or something? Players can be streaky just realize it usually isn't anything to worry about. Usually.
You can blame Sanchez for taking a sack on the play before. I think they lost 7 yards there. Oh well can't fault Sanchez too much as he has been awesome in the clutch....just saying.
Yeah hard to blame Sanchez but wasn't that the sack he took on that roll out play? He had plenty of time to see that it wasn't there and throw it away but he didn't. Actually, that would be my one big complaint about Sanchez so far. He refuses to throw the ball away under any circumstance,

Folk had a terrific game making every field goal but the 50 yarder into the wind... only question really is Which Jet player will the SOJF's be screaming about cutting and replacing this week?
There wasn't any wind so he should have had the distance but it's hard to get on a kicker for missing from 50+. he had a nice bounce back day making 3 chip shot FGs, hopefully he keeps it up. That was 2 plays before I believe and it was his fault, he was out of the pocket and he should not have taken that sack.
The Folk postings are getting ridiculous. Folk is a good kicker and it amazes me that with all the flaws on a team they rag on Folk. The guy had 12 points yesterday and there are kickers in the league missing all over the place. And by the way he was kicking into the wind. Also good point by logesection2rowj about 6'4" guys rushing you. Timing is everything. The Jets won so lets move on! The comment about Reed is ridiculous.
