You want him to go 5 wide empty backfield w/ a developing QB that was very mistake prone a year ago? How do LT and Greene compliment each other being on the field at the same time?

Before last week our O was 2nd or 3rd in scoring, how can we complain about that?

Woodhead is a classic case of fitting well into a system. He's basically been asked to do the things that Kevin Faulk did, and so far he's done them pretty well. There's a lot of physical ability there but most of it's been putting him in a position to succeed.

One thing I've been pleasantly surprised by is his ability to pick up blitzes. For a guy his size, he's de-cleated a linebacker or two.

Good fit for NE. He'll stick around.

As a Pats fan, I'm as happy as can be with Woodhead.

Actually, we had the most points scored at one point...

ftr,I wasn't saying 5 wide all the time, but yes...you gotta sometimes go 5 wide this doesn't mean he makes 5 reads, it means the defense has to cover 5 Receivers. BIG DIFFERENCE.

and if you fail to see what benefits having LT and Shonn on the field @ the same time can have,
then now I totally understand why you are defending Shotty.

With all the short scrappy white dudes that have heart, it is surprising that the Pats don't become America's team, David Duke their new fan relation guy..........

I really don't care that he is gone...I am thrilled with Greene and LT, and it may just be wishful thinking but as Conner gets better with time we could even get our FB involved as an option out of the backfield as well (though I much prefer to see him simply knock the heck out of someone instead).

Since the We Should Have Kept Woodhead thread has somehow disappeared, I figured I'd get everyone up in arms here in this thread. WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT WOODHEAD (SARCASM)

Yeah, how exactly did we benefit from waiving him? I'm sure he wasn't going to be a playmaker for us this year but he's clearly a talented player and a hard worker, and we cut him for guys who have contributed nothing.. and now he's making plays for the Pats.

He is what he is. A solid player who found the perfect situation for his talents.

Hahahaha! That's the most moronic statement in the world! On potential maybe... but I don't think McKnight has a 5.0 rushing avg... or a couple of TDs...

    PS 4 TDs and 500+ yds (312 rushing + 217 recieving) in 8 games

It's not only about the system... the system enhances his abilities but Woodhead is a football player, period. No matter where he plays.

If any player we cut would've done that we'd all be going ape shit... but he's short and white so clearly it's all about the system and not about the talent.
