Rex must recognize that this is not the team he thought it was. We have a stalled running game, and a defense that's above average at best. The passing game needs to be the focus. We have 2 legit #1 WR's, an excellent receiving TE, and a QB whose play has done all the talking - and the statement is that this is Sanchez's team. Rex needs to recognize that, and recognize that this team is at its best when Sanchez and the passing game are the focus. If he does that, it will open up the running game, and will keep Rex out of situations where the defense is rescued by Sanchez. This is the oddest I've ever felt as a Jet fan. We're not a dominant team, but we have luck and intangibles behind us. WOW!
The defense and rushing attack are still top 10 so you can believe whatever you want, but you have to believe in this team!
I dont know how you can say that considering we pass more than we run... Plus Sanchez has thrown for basically 300 yards the past 3 games. We passed a lot today
the d is gettin rep as choke artist they play great defense in the second half and then let the offense drive right down on them in the final minutes
They do - but it's the philosophy. It's the choosing to put the defense on the field first. It's the way we come out sputtering behind the run to begin games. It's the unwavering belief that Rex has in his defense. They either need to fix it and figure out how to cover TE's and get to the QB, or just recognize that it's not an elite defense. This is the most exciting Jet team I can remember.
What's funny about that is pre-bye week the D was closing out games. Now post-bye week, its the offense. Odd turn of events.
I'm somewhat concerned that the impeccable chemistry that was growing between the two earlier this season has somewhat evaporated of late. It's not a huge problem since we're still putting up numbers in the passing game but he would help out a ton in the red zone. lol exactly
