Well, it comes down to the personalities. Some ppl shy away from media attention.

Let's face it, there's no way this family will be allowed to show up & watch the game peacefully. They'll be interviewed (might be cameras involved also) & then the story will be posted everywhere how the Jets reached out & did a kind deed for them to make up for their previous drama. Then this new story might be spread around as a feel good story.

You have to keep something in mind - a mob situation. You don't know how this situation enfolded. If he fought the one guy, he could've really been taking on about 10 or 12, which would've been stupid. Also, everyone who says they'd fight the guy is setting a terrible example for their child - an eye for an eye is not the right thing to do. Just my opinion, from a kid who's never gotten in a fight in his life. I'm not one of those guys who gets liquored up, goes to a bar, and looks for someone to rumble with. Evidently, many of you are. Some of you seem like you would almost relish your child getting tackled, just to show how macho you are.

Question for all you hypothetical tough guys: Who's taking care of your 8 year old while you're mixing it up with the neanderthal(s)?

You've obviously never been to Shea in the 70s.

Apparently you never learned to stick up for yourself and got walked all over your entire life. Every day people walk all over you, don't they? I'm not one to ever look for a fight, I hate fighting, but if someone threatens me or my family you can bet your ass there is going to be a problem.

Yeah, we get walked all over because we choose not be violent neanderthals. You're spot on. And he did defend his son, he got him out of harm's way. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Beating that guy up would've done nothing except feed your own ego.

Hello New York fans. Glad to see you guys won 2 in a row since our game. Sorry about what happened with your fans outside of Browns stadium. Browns fans are pretty cruel and intense from what I have heard. I guess thats why they call it the dawg pound.

Like I said, I'd give the guy a few shots and move along, not make a whole day of it. Kid can help if he wants to.

He didn't defend shit, he fled. Not knowing all the details of the situation maybe that was the best thing to do. I just take exception to your holier than thou I'm not a neanderthal stance. It's quite obvious to me you have been walked all over your entire life.

Sometimes you have to stick up for yourself. Bottom line.

Never went to a Jets game while they were @ Shea. Was it really that bad & was Meadowlands a much better facility?

I just don't believe in violence solving anything. My opinion. Sticking to it. Have not been in a fight, nor have I been beaten up, nor have I been walked all over. I never used the word neanderthal, some other dude did, although I will admit some of you sound like neanderthals with the gay bashing and violence-endorsing that goes on around here.

And I love how people on forums think they're so tough. Thinking you know who I am. Good shit. And I totally agree with sticking up for yourself. But it doesn't always have to be with violence. Sometimes it is necessary, but c'mon man, I'm sure there was a mob of Browns fans there, you would have fought all of them?

Depends on your perspective. Cold, wet, windy, horrible team, horrendous traffic. No replays. Poor sight lines (we sat in the box seats on the third base line, you couldn't see over the players on the bench. That Carl Barzilauskas was one fat SOB). All in all, pretty miserable experience, I'd say its on par with spending the day in Jersey.

That was a classless move. If I went to a game w/ a friend & he attacked someone's child, I'd slap him around before the father can even jump in.

Good to see ya back. After you whip up the Vikes, the whole league is going to be watching your game against the Falcons. Looking forward to that myself too.

You have to see the situation to make that call. Just because people like the same team doesn't mean they're going to stick up for a guy who tackles a kid and go after his dad. Everyone doesn't lose their mind completely on game day, only a vocal handful. I've been to a million games, good and bad.

Gladly, I may end up with broken bones and stab wounds from the mob, but at least I'll make sure the one guy who made the tackle will be crying for his mother on the edge of death. When you have a kid you'll understand.

    Isn't PJ4ever a woman?

Am I mistaking that name for someone else? Didn't you have that cartoon dog avatar? Lady and the Tramp or something like that?

My thoughts exactly. You show your family you can protect them by not being a pussy.

I will admit I have not, I was born in 74.. My first game there was in the early 80s with dad and it was rough then.

We just never had any issues. Never saw the Jets there...
