Has been absolutely brutal the last 2 weeks. Haven't been able to watch the games live so I recorded them, thinking that I could go about my day and then watch the game at night when things quieted down. Last week, vs. Detroit- my mistake in not recording the following program. Didn't notice that my kid's "ICARLY" episode took priority in that time slot, so I missed OT. This week, I figured that I would record both the game and post-game show- DVR confirmed it. Only problem was that the freaking OT stretched into the next football game. Damm thing crapped out with 2:28 in OT to go. It sucks to spend 2+ hours watching a game and not know how the thing ends- like Heidi Game Part Deux. I suppose that if I can't watch the following week's game live, I'll record everything on that channel for the entire day.
Doesn't your DVR allow you to have extensions for the recording time? I set my DVR so it records a 3 hour jets game + a 1 hour extension.
The Jets won. I've been in the same boat before, and I feel for ya. Just record the Jets game + 1 hour. This is a good rule of thumb for all sporting events, even some TV shows will get cut off. EDIT: Also, tell the wife that the only way to record the full game is to get the 63" TV
I love my Comcast DVR... don't know what I'd do without it. Koz, you should have a Preference Menu where you can tell the DVR what you prefer over other programming if there's a conflict. This way you can shit all over the kids, which is perfectly permissible as long as it comes to Jets games. You should also be able to extend the time. But yeah, if I set it to record the game and then the SNY Post Game Show, it could probably screw me out of an OT game.
Me too. I got burned on this too many times so I just record the shows afterwards. Almost ran out of room. Got to 98%
Does anyone know where to get a torrent for this game? I was at the game, and had my wife record the game plus whatever came on after it. She would not know how to extend the time. The problem is that the game went past the post game program that was recorded. Now, I need to download the game. Anyone know where?
My directv dvr asks me when I record a sporting event if I want to add time I add 1 hour. I watched this game on dvr and got done with it at about 5. I would recommend recording it on 2 dvr's if got them in the house thats what I do
I always add +1 hour on my Tivo, never failed me before. The real problem is avoiding radio and other people's TVs all afternoon to avoid the spoiler Also Tivo is great with the 30 second skip, which is almost always exactly the time between snaps. In the hurry up offense I just re-program for 15 or 20 second skip
FYI- The Jets won, Mark was about to get sacked, tucked the ball up into his ass, and when he was on his way down he squeezed out a rocket right to Holmes. beautiful play.
I went to visit my cousin at West Virginia University and watch their game live Saturday and was flying back during the Jets game on Sunday, so I actually thought about this and called my wife. I told her to record the following program after the game. Didn't happen, she said she forgot. I was so pissed...
guys this is koz we are talking about. huge head itty bitty brain. record every game i dont attend and either start watching an hour in or later in the day.always record game plus 2 hours.games without commercials or being able to pause the game to help the kids out is AWESOME. but i never ever pause on a good JETS drive
I heve been recording every game for the past I don't know years....my last KOZ LIKE mistake came when I only added 60 mins to the MNM, It cut off after the 2nd Coleman int... I have added 90 mins. to every recording since. Sometimes, I get home from the stadium and it's still recording and I just shut it off. Since 2006, I edit out the commercials and have everygame available on my home network. 2007 got lost in a HDD crash so I've been archiving ever since. It's tedious but nothing like being able to pull up a game whenever you want. I don't even want to know wtf an ICARLY is...ugh...
