Has Gholston ever registered a QB hit? I know he's got some decent pressure but has he ever gotten a hit on a QB in a regular season game?
our pass rush sucks, but can ghost stop the run? dunno about that. most times i have notice gholston was him being juked/faked out, and looking like a clown.
I hate to keep sounding like an apologist for Gholston, but do you really comprehend how green he really is? OL in 3 years at High School. 34 games in 4 years at Ohio State. Where to his credit he clearly dominated inferior talent, but there is not really any such thing in the NFL.
^This is now his 3rd year in the NFL and he hasn't shown anything. Regardless of how "green" he may be you would think by now he would have shown something. He's made one impact play in 3 years (chasing down Chris Johnson against Tenn last year).
I doubt Kyle Wilson's playing time is increasing because he's earned it. I think it's more likely Rex wants him to gain some experience against a quarterback who won't abuse him. Smart move, IMO. We need somebody to emerge at nickel by the time we hit the playoffs. Kyle Wilson is that guy, but you can't give him the experience he needs to improve if it'll cost you games.
I don't mind if Gholston plays, I just don't wanna hear about how good he looks in practice and then read his stat line of 3 tackles (2 ast) 0 sacks 0 FFUM
This is a good point. Hopefully he can get it going because with a good nickel that will really slow down the other team's passing game. Maybe even long enough for one of our pass rushers to figure out where the QB is.
The less of Coleman we see the better. Wilson needs to step the fuck up. Immediately. Our defense is no better than last year if Coleman is the 3rd DB.
