I may be in the minority here, but I believe that Sanchez has acted like a team leader this year. Body language fines?! Did they give the receivers fines for dropping catchable balls in the Packers game? From the post-games, it appears that Sanchez is taking the brunt of the blame for the offense's performance; a performance that, for the most part, wasn't his fault. In game, these "body language violations" are unacceptable. In practice...nobody gets better without a little ribbing.
I agree, he's handled the press very well, and says all the right things when asked questions that are meant to catch him off guard.
Both are important to his growth as a leader. Writing goals down isn't uncommon. Its a good learning tool for a young kid. I bet more QBs do it, but they don't have HBO cameras filming it. Coaches usually implement the same techniques a lot, so I wouldn't be shocked if Brees and Rivers had the same done to them. And body language is a huge factor in life, not just football. Its the little things, especially at the professional level, that make the difference. Sanchez wanted to do this, not the CS. It shows how dedicated this kid is to being great in all aspects of the game. Would you rather him not change these things?
I think this is good, kinda. I'm not too keen on the idea of fixing a negative with a negative, but maybe this will be a wake up call. Eventually he needs to realize this himself with a fine or not and make himself stop worrying and pouting and looking down at the ground as if his family is going to be killed because he made a mistake. More importantly when he makes a mistake at a really bad time, that's when he really he needs to brush that shit off and keep fighting.
Well ain't this the Cow's Tits. Isn't this the exact god damn reason so many people wanted Manguntis outta here? Fuk me.... IDG2F how he acts as long as he is held accountable...Blaming other players is one thing, pointing out their fuk ups is another. Leave the fukin guy alone.
Tony Romo and Jay Cutler are what happens when you 'leave the fukin guy alone'. He's a 'fukin' 5th overall draft pick QB with almost 3 overall seasons of starting experience past the high school level. You don't leave someone like that the 'fuk' alone when there is that much at stake, at the pro level. They turn into self-absorbed shitbags. Plus, you seem to be glossing over the reports that Sanchez himself wants some kind of accountability system to make himself act more disciplined on the field.
This has nothing to do with mangini. You're taking this to an extreme that this story isn't even near.
Yes...PFT takes it all out of context. Listen to the Schotty press conference. It is more of lighthearted/bonding type thing than a serious action to correct a major deficiency.
jets staff should stfu, and not reveal this shit. we already know sanchez is into gay activities such as justin bieber shows, musicals/plays, looking like a homo, etc. way to make him look more like a pussy. the only good out of this would be our homo quarterback whipping teams arse's. so we could say"hahah you lost to a a gay qb"
Geeze, some of you are really going off the deep end with this sidebar story. As MB said, it was SANCHEZ's idea in the first place! It's nothing more that Rex keeping it fun to play on this team. Even for the coaches. Apparently, Sanchez already knows he sometimes doesn't always carry himself the way that HE wants to. This is nothing more than a fun way to help his development, and keeping it light, it isn't like the CS and Brunnell are riding his ass. For a QB, this is just one aspect of being coached up, unless you want a QB like Cutler who pouts, or another idiot like Rivers who screams at his team mates and never admits to making a mistake himself. You want to know how a QB at the highest level operates? Look at Brees, Manning, Brady. They aren't robots, but they are leaders who keep their head in the game at all times. He is just being coached. What the hell is so wrong about that?
Whats wrong? We lost a game! That means everything the Jets do for the week after the loss is wrong. seriously though, good post and I couldn't say it any better.
^ Agreed...If Sanchez wants to turn a corner (which I believe he is) then there is absolutely nothing wrong with being coached on his demeanor.
