"Lions announced the Jets game is sold out & team president can't recall the last time that happened on Wed before non-Thanksgiving game" Hopefully a lot of Jet fans!
Yeah!!! Booo!!! Actually I live over on the other side of the state and am outside of the blackout area so I'd get to see it either way, but I'm happy they sold out, and that it happened so quickly.
No question, but which QB would be better to deal with the pressure? In comparison to the rest of the league, the Lions do still "stink". They are a bottom third of the league team. It just so happens that they've moved from the bottom of the bottom third to the top of the bottom third. When you're lying on the floor after a years long bender, even a 6-10 season looks like great. This is a game the Jets should dominate and then not have to face the Loins again for 4 more years. If we play like we did in week one or week 8, this will be a game, otherwise not so much.
There are at least 10 Jets fans that I know that are going to be there. I'm sure there will be at least a few thousand.
Lions are much better than their record indicates. They can score 28+ in almost every game, but they will also give up a shit loads of points on D as well. They are not great, but their record this year is a little deceiving at 2-5.
Wouldn't Cro be a better cover for CJ than Revis? It seems they've tried to stick Cro on the 6'5+ wideouts. I honestly can't see anything less than CJ going over top of Revis all damn day, because Revis sure as hell ain't winning a jump ball one on one.
Just watch the 09 season, Revis times his jumps perfectly, can adjust his hips to turn toward the ball and just knock the fucker out. It's hard to come down with the ball when Revis is knocking it out from underneath. Of course Revis has to be in 09 shape, I wouldn't be opposed to Cro on CJ though. Cro would take some chances at picking a ball off too, which I like.
He can time his jumps perfectly all damn day, CJ has a 4 ft vertical at 6'5. I'd be willing to bet we'll probably see cro on him more often than not.
Funny thing, when you jump you have to come back down. This sounds quite a bit like the Chargers fans and there "tall receivers" arguments.
Don't remember if it was at the combine or at GT, but he was over the top rung. I believe the highest measurement is 45". EDIT: Not sure where I read the measurement thing but it's probably wrong. He jumped 43" at the combine and 42.5" at his pro day. It was at GT: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/26/sports/football/26draft.html
The same way the Jets were going to blow out the injury depleted Broncos? Every Lions loss has been a close game. The Bears game was BS & they should be 3-4. Jets should win but I doubt it'll be easy. Lions can put up points & can generate pass rush without blitzing. They also give up points, so Jets O should be able to do well.
I know we're not going to put an end to this "story" but what the heck, lets look at the Loins losses. Week Differential 1 ......... 5 2 ......... 3 3 ......... 14 4 ......... 2 6 ......... 8 Detroit has lost two games by more than a score. I'd not call that close. The Jets have a better oline than most of the teams that Detroit has played this year. I anticipate that they should be able to handle the 4man rush pretty well. The biggest question the Jets have, as always this year, is the throwing and catching game.
