I want to see a full season of work from Suh before I say he is the best DT in the NFL, but he has the physical talent and the on-field aggression and intelligence and instincts of a budding elite player. I would trade our entire draft for him.
Wouldn't the indoors hurt the Lions in this particular matchup? Sometimes conditions can make games more even. With no elements causing issues, it should be all Jets. Heavy emphasis on the word SHOULD by the way.
Pats fan checking in on the competition. For some reason your game with the Lions intrigues me. My hunch is a high scoring 34-31 type of game. In a dome. Jets offense comes out embarrassed and fired up. But Lions move the ball at will too. I think Revis has his most difficult day as a pro. Johnson's a beast and has a monster day. We have them on Thanksgiving day and I'm not looking forward to it either.
Well, I'm not debating that, he is better than any CB on the Pats. But I don't think he's up to the task of guarding Calvin Johnson in a dome game. Johnson't too big, strong, athletic, good, and motivated by the matchup. Hopefully Revis has him because it's a match I want to see.
Andre Johnson, Chad OchoCinco, Roddy White, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Mike Sims-Walker, Steve Smith (Panthers) and Vincent Jackson all say "hi".
CJ's different. Andre Johnson's the only one in his class, but from what I've seen of Calvin he's far stronger at going up for the ball. Revis' advantage against big receivers has been his strength. But I think he'll be bouncing off Johnson all day long. Will be interesting.
The jets two losses are by ten total points was the point of that thread. The Lions five losses have been by 32 points. I really don't think that is a good comparison for the Lions. I used to think that the Lions were better than their record but they have won two games so far. The is not inspiring confidence. As to not getting breaks I'd say they got a considerable one on Sunday when Shanahan decided to unilaterally remove his best weapon at the end of the game.
I guess you missed the 09 season, and both the games vs youz guyz? In the GB game, Revis covered Jennings the entire 2nd half and was held to 3 catches for 33 yards. Revis' hammy may be 100% but he's still not 100% NFL ready, but he's making strides now each game. Jennings while not a tall receiver, was a good warm-up.
I'll say it right now, next year Calvin Johnson should establish himself as the marquee receiver in the NFL. We need Revis to make him a nonfactor.
Oh, I gotcha. It only counts if you add up all of each team's losses. You used to think? Have you watched them play at all, save for highlights?
Revis has a unique blend of strength, speed and technique. Moss was not a good matchup against a guy like that, if that's what you're talking about. The only type of receiver that can give Revis difficulty is the one that can overpower him - neutralize his hand checking and outfight him for the jump ball. That's what I can see happening vs. Johnson. But I could be wrong. Or it could be that Ryan sees the same thing and puts Cromartie on him.
I think the indoors helps the Lions. We are an all weather, defensive running game....that works in bad weather better than the Lions offense.
OK, if we throw out three of the lions losses, they are a .500 team. That should be good enough for a wild card in teh NFC this year. You go with that.
