Still too early to get a handle on any of them. All three have shown flashes of greatness and also played like complete dogs. I don't think any of them bust on gameplay basis, but Stafford's brittle body has me a bit worried. Kid can play though and it's crazy to think that he's only 22.
The overreactions will begin. if Sanchez had WRs that could catch or if we didn't run so damn many trick plays we easily would have won yesterday.
Still, the thing that alarms me about Sanchez is the dreadful completion %. It's not just the statistics alone either. Some of the passes he completed were underthrown and if they had been on the money, his receivers would have had much more YAC. A good example is the underthrow to Edwards that he practically picked up off the ground. Also, on one of Cotchery's drops the pass was high and it gave the DB the chance to lay a lick on JC and jar the ball loose.
Go back and look at all the drops he's had the last 2-3 games, it's normal to see a drop here and there but the amount has been alarming. I don't worry about comp % if he's leading us to points which he was until yesterday.
I did not get a chance to see the Denver game. I saw the Minnesota game and yesterday's game and I agree....lots of dropped balls. However; Sanchez has been consistently scraping the bottom of the league in this category. Seems to be an inidicator of bad throws or bad decisions or both. Maybe it's more Schottenheimer than Sanchez but I really would like to see more consistency from the Jets' passing game. The QB we saw the last 3 games does not look like the same guy from the NE, MIA and BUF games or the 3 Playoff games last year.
I think Freeman might be more mentally tougher than Sanchez. Freeman exudes that dust yourself off mentality, and keeps it moving.
It doesn't matter, we're pissing in the wind, some Jets fans will never give this guy a fair shake unless he immediately turns into Peyton. Guy hasn't even played 2 full seasons and because of 1 loss these fans are ready to write the book on him.
Freeman 2 TD, 4 picks. Perhaps last year was a fluke year? haha and all these "experts" declared him a top 10 QB. We will see...
To be fair to Freeman, he won a big game this past weekend. Can't knock him for that, was the one thing missing from his resumé.
It's a tough call. Sanchez has some playoff wins, Freeman has nut swingers and Stafford has the IR.... Stafford is playing the best at this point, though his injuries seem to be too common, especially that shoulder!
I'd rather have Freeman because he has better physical tools. Put him with our talent on offense and he would be a beast But we got Sanchez, so go Sanchez! He might turn out to be a beast as well(at least i hope)
Freeman faced a pretty weak schedule last year which I personally think skewed his stats! Talking heads want to sing his praises.... He's a good young QB, but not even close to top 10 ... YET.
