Fwiw... Cablevision, Fox Lose Bargaining Chip with Yankees Loss October 25, 2010 at 10:30 am Both sides in the Fox, Cablevision dispute lost a bargaining chip when the Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees for a place in the World Series. The pressure to get WNYW and WWOR New York back on the air for Cablevision’s 3 million subscribers would have increased had the Yanks made it to the Series. Nevertheless the standoff could extend through Wednesday’s series start. Meanwhile, the FCC asked both companies to provide written explanations of their negotiating strategies to prove they are operating in good faith, as called for in the law governing retransmission deals, and the FCC asked each to provide any proof they might have that the other company is violating the good faith requirement. let's hope they figure this out sooner than later...
It goes by the road team, not the home team. Explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_on_television
Only reason I haven't done this is cause I kinda move around my house during breaks etc so I would probably need 3 or 4 HD antennas so its kinda cost prohibitive. I'll probably hook up one of my laptops to the 37" Insignia at the bar, put the stream on, and turn on 1050 for Bob & Marty's play by play which is good for me. Lets me bask in the light of the neon coming from my Jets signs and all the memorabilia hanging on the wall.
Yeah yes the NYYs are dead for this year at least. Hopefully they now have a hex on them & will win NOTHING for at least the next 50 years. This goes to prove that $$$$$$$$$$ cannot buy a championship along
Yeah, because no other team spends money on players. The Yankees may be #1 in payrolls, but teams ranked #2 through #9 didn't make it to the World Series either. That includes the Red Sox, Cubs, and Mets, who are all ranked high on that list. Give me a break.
Maybe but the NYYs are the spenders of the spenders. Example there payroll for this past season was like 250M or something like that & the Phillies was around 120M. That makes the NYYs the champs of attempting to buy a championship
What exactly do you want to hear? Yeah, the crowd noises are nice, but do you really need to listen to the incessant "expert" commentary?
tommy is right just go to the damn bar, get shitfaced, and act a fool. and its haloween so the bar will be crawling with broads in like no clothes.
"over air" broadcasts are now digital, so no more "graininess" if you're within decent range from a broadcast tower and have a decent antennae, the picture is like cable.
I'm out of market and there are 3 Fox early games: Rams, Lions and Jets. I will be FURIOUS if I have to watch either of the 2 rejects play.
Hopefully it will be over by then, but just in case it isn't, does anyone know which local station will be simulcasting the Thanksgiving night game?
