Broncos pulled out all the stops as Sanchez indicated. Orange Out, onside kick, wildcat, no huddle. But the Jets still won. They made mistakes, played poorly at times, but in the end, found a way. That is all that counts Cimini.
Just to highlight his ineptitude Correctly called plays are gifts while bad calls go without mention. His facemask was grabbed, head got turned and he still had the ball at his fingertips, brilliant to assume Holmes would not have caught it. So by Cimini's own admission Thomas should not have the TD reception which would put Revis' day at 3 receptions allowed for 49 yds and no TD's. Did Cimini expect Ryan to use a challenge and risk losing the final TO before the end of the 3rd quarter? Had the previous challenge play been overturned as it should have been then the Jets would have still had 2 TO's and would have probably challenged. I don't know what is so hard to understand here. They took away the strength of the Broncos offense attack which was obviously the intent based on who was active and inactive today. 3 DL inactive and no DB's inactive so they give up 145 yds rushing but hold one of the top passing attacks to 209 yds. Overall the article did what it intended and that was to get a reaction from fans, facts are irrelevant.
That's right. He did not need rest, he needed to play to get in game shape and get some reps. Rex did the right thing, having another 2 weeks off would be starting from ground zero against the Pack. Now Revis will be 100% with reps under his belt. We will have the best cornerback tandem in football 100% healthy.
His entire article is so full of double negatives it's amazing my head didn't explode from reading it. Between this and that other hack Woody Paige n wonder why newspapers are dying.
Hate to say it but ither the Jets were un-prepared for the game, and/or were outcoached for most of the game.
Fuck Cimini and his gift. It was blatant interference dude. And 24 looked just fine, he's nearly 100% now. I suspect he'll dominate whatever GB receiver he's on in 2 weeks.
He is not a Jets fan, thats for sure. And by Jets fan, I mean good writer. And by good writer, I mean reporter. And by reporter, I mean human being.
The Jets clearly didn't play their best game. That said, they overcame a lot to get a road win in a short week. These are the games good teams win. But Cimini would never admit to that.
What's amazing is if the Pats or Colts win that game it's how well they fought all the way till the end and overcame all the adversity to beat a good team on the road. Instead it's the Jets were lucky.
Oh, absolutely. It's the kind of gritty performance of a championship team, a "character-building" win. The Jets do it, and it was lucky.
I love it when media guys like cimini pretend to know something about whether a player is medically able to play and then second guess Head Coaches who actually do know what the situation is and who have actually consulted with physicians who are experts and who have examined the player and rendered a medical opinion. All of that is apparently lost on Cimini who would have us believe that he is a medical expert as well as a football expert. its such a stupid and baseless opinion that cimini should be embarrassed to pretend that he knows better than the player, the coaches and the medical experts.
YUP.. I sent a Twitter to Cimini... "Love the battle between geek writer and NFL DOCTORS, TRAINED SPECIALISTS AND COACHES over how to handel Revis.... REALLY? IMO, players need to work thru hammy issues and he still needs to get himself into shape. As long as the doctors give the ok, I think you should play now instead of waiting 2 weeks and then still wondering and still needing him to test it and get into shape.. But, Cimini must have some degree in medicine we don't know about as well as acess to Revis' records and tests... FREAKING BOZO... Cimini looks like a complete dolt on this one.
I agree. This is Revis' training camp right now. If there's not risk of making it worse, which they were told there wasn't, he needs to get out there and play.
I hope Rex reads that BS article and roasts Cimini in his presser. Man, that "gift" comment really infuriates me.
Can't create topics or post links, but this Cimini article on ESPN NY page is trash. Here's a snippet. "The New York Jets lucked out -- just like last season. They played Arena League defense and fell to the Chicago Bears 38-34 but they backed into the playoffs because the Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Washington Redskins. It was a hollow way to make it for the second straight year, but as Rex Ryan said defiantly, 'We’ll take it.' " 10-5 while clinching in Week 16 is lucking out? You don't back into the playoffs with one week of football left to go. What a hater, I hope he falls ill.
