There is another aspect that I hope he sees in negociations. Rex has been able to get him motivated and playing at a high level something that has been a problem for him in the past. He is focused and has to be enjoying himself for the first time in years.

Light's out means he's been playing great and he hasn't been close to great. He's been good, we know what great looks like(and if you don't want to use Revis '09 use Revis '08) and Cromartie has not been close to great.

I have a question. With 8 kids, why wouldn't you get a vasectomy?

If we win the SB, I could see him leaving for the best $. If not, he might want to stay and see if he can win it here.

I agree but he is playing much better than he has in a few years. To me there is a huge difference between his play in the playoffs last year and what we have seen from him so far in green and white.

That's what happens when you put a player in a position that best suits their skill set. I agree he hasn't been great (Brandon Marshall), but he's shown flashes of brilliance and I think we've yet to see the best from him.

He's definitely playing better than he has in years which I think has to do w/ going back to man to man and playing for Rex but he has not been great. I'm happy overall w/ what he has done so far.

Agreed his skill set was wasted in SD because they were in love with the cover 2. I do think motivation is at work here as well because you can see the effort and emotion from him.

Agreed. Some people should just re-watch the Dolphins, Ravens games, etc...How soon some people forget.

The guy has 3 picks in 5 games. He definately brings playmaking ability to the team. Hes also tied for first with 9 pass deflections. I'd say hes been stellar so far.

Yep. He's a man to man corner. The problem is that he's not a physical man to man corner.

He relaxes at times and that's when he gets beat.

On the Moss TD he decides to play off man, and gets burned. Great players don't relax on 3rd and 17 - they get it done.

I like Cro, but I don't love him. He still plays soft, which pisses me off. Cole plays more physical than he does.

I think the only thing keeping him from relaxing after the big payday will be Coach Thurman and Rex. If the Jets don't want to keep him, then the Jets should do a sign and trade. They'd fleece any team that takes him.

He didn't get burned on that play. It was a perfect pass and a good catch.

ok, I agree that lights out might be a little strong, but he has played great. He stepped up when he needed in the fin game. In my opinion, being great means rising to the occasion when called upon. When he needed to stop Marshall he did. Revis was great last year because for the most part he needed to shut out the opposing team's number 1 for us to have a shot at winning. This year since he (Crom) is supposed to cover #2s and he has done such a good job against #1s he has been GREAT.

You're right, but I wish on a 3rd and 17 he'd jam him. Moss gets lazy when you jam the fuck out of him all game.

That's how Revis shut him down and that's how Cro owned him for a whole half.

Cro still won the battle. There were plenty of deep passes he broke up and nearly had a one arm INT.

I don't understand why we don't see him bumping at the LOS still. Gruden kept talking about Cromartie and his bump & run coverage but not once did I see a replay where he bumped Moss.

We've heard Rex talking about how he needs to do this, so why the hell isn't he?

That's great, but obviously you didn't get the point of what I was trying to say. Cromartie seems like a team player now.

Trade him to who and for what? And then still have to absorb a huge cap hit (yeah, there will be a cap again). Impossible.

I'll never forget what DT said on Hard Knocks.

Cro has to stop loving his opponents and start hating them. He's just a total finesse player with no physicality to his game.

He is so strong has has arms longer than mine, and we are the same height. He's a physical freak and he wont' use it to his advantage.

He has the potential to be twice as good as he is right now, he just won't do it. Its frustrating, but that's who he is. Until someone finds the way to flip that switch in his head he'll always be this way.

It does make me think that if he's going to be here for one year, you gotta sign and trade. The Jets will get back a better pick than what they gave up for him.
