Annoyingly it seems likely that a draft cap will almost certainly form part of any future labor deal and so the pats probably wont need to pay through the nose to sign their early draft picks (especially the one they got from the moronic raiders).

    Moss to Vikings?

Was watching ESPN this morning getting ready for work and it appeard the Vikings are trying to trade for Moss from the Patsies and the deal expected to be completed today. Hopefully Revis will be fully recovered for Mondays game.

Sorry no link,,too early in the morning for me :)

Having a lot of draft picks is nice on paper but over the last few years the Pats haven't drafted well. They have traded down so many times and missed out on all-pro caliber players to stock pile guys that fit the system...not many have worked out. So the fact that they have a lot of picks means they will be young and have to learn. How many draft picks come in day one and create huge impacts? How about bringing in 10 draft picks? Just creates a team that has a lot of areas where they need growth and time to develop.

As for Moss leaving - Brady didn't have great WR when he won his Super Bowls but those teams had amazing defenses. This Pats team does not and needs to score points. Moss was the guy that stretched the field - commanded double coverage from a safety. Now teams know that Pats have a bunch of possession guys that fun 5-10 yard patterns. The running game will suffer because teams will bring another guy up in the box to prevent runs and short dump passes. Brady loves Moss and he avg 1 TD per game during his time in NE - I don't care who you bring in that production doesn't exist anywhere in the NFL.

Moss is still one of the best WRs in the league and he has been dogging it with the Pats. If he gets traded to the Vikes, I fully expect him to go all out in his first game.

You're right, the Pat's drafts the past 3 years or so have not been real good, a few decent players. Although, McCourty, Gronkowski, Hernandez and Cunningham look promising.

IMO, the Pat's mistake was holding on to a few older defensive players a year longer and some poor draft picks. I bet the Pats will hold on to their higher 1 st Rd pick from Oakland.

What does it even matter if there is no NFL next year? Those picks can sit around and get fat for a year and maybe if there is an NFL in 2012 they can play. Then again there may not be that year either.

No matter what, it makes things interesting now. As an NFL fan, this is a good thing.

Oddly enough, he plays this week, Randy Moss will play 17 games this season instead of 16 because he'll miss both teams' bye weeks.

People more knowledgeable than myself, please feel free to comment, but i believe there will be a 2011 draft regardless of a lockout. If a lockout is imminent, you can all but guarantee we see next to no juniors joining the class next april.

Totally agree. This is a smart move by the Patriots.

We dont need revis to cover Moss! Cromartie made Moss his bitch in the first game against NE and I would expect him to do the same come monday if Moss is traded to the Vikings.

I would much prefer to see Cromartie matched up with Moss, Revis on Harvin and Wilson on Shanco.

They could always put Cro on Moss. He did a great job matching up with him last time.

That's another issue. We may see everybody who can go will go because until there is an agreement there won't be a rookie cap. Personally I see no reason for even having a draft until there is an agreement. Nobody will get signed and that will throw in motion more collusion lawsuits. It will be a complete mess.

Yes, even with a lock out the draft will still occur no matter what.

It would seem that the Pats are putting all their eggs in the basket that they'll have an unreal draft next year but as much praise as all these "experts" want to give Belli they never mention Ron Brace, Terrence Wheatly, Shawn Crable, Kevin O'Connell

2006 might be the worst, Maroney, Chad Jackson, David Thomas, Garrett Mills, Ryan O'Callaghan, LeKevin Smith, Dan Stevenson, and Willie Andrews. I think the only player still on the roster is Gostkowski.

good its done, Moss is out of the Division.

he becomes the second player in NFL history to have played on back to back MNF games. M&M said this morning the other was Kurt Browner in 1987.

Every Jets fan should be celebrating right now. Moss is going to be a tough cover Monday in Minny, but after monday night (assuming he stays in Minny) we will never play him again, unless he somehow is still playing in 2014.

07 was worse, at least some of those guys were around in 2007. by the 08 season, Merriweather was the only guy still on the roster from the 2007 draft. But yeah those two back to back drafts is why the pats are not up to standards the last couple years. 2-3 years from now they will return to the top of the dominant pile (assuming Brady is still functuning at a high level...)

I'm not celebrating. The Pats are now a tiny bit worse and the Vikings are a lot better in time for Monday's game.
