The Florio power rankings just keep giving and giving. 13. Minnesota Vikings (No. 16; 1-2): A year after Brett Favre stuck it to his old team, his more recent old team is getting ready to stick it to him.
He's just sucking you in so he can step on your throat really hard if the Jets screw up on MNF. A lot of people will be doing that this week. There's a lot of anti-Jets karma out there waiting to crystallize into mosh pit full of zombies if the opportunity presents.
"Yeah, the Jets and Ravens have the same record. Yeah, the Ravens beat the Jets by a point. But if there were a rematch today, it wouldn't be that close -- and the Ravens wouldn't win."
Their defense played tough, no question. Here's the Ray Lewis hit on Keller for example: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5790252/video_highlight_ray_lewis_destroys.html
Only 6 teams have scored 100+ points, Green Bay (only NFC team, WOW) Pats, Indy, Houston, San Diego, and THE JETS! Out of those teams we have given up the least amount of points at 61 points against. Pats,Indy, and Houston all have given up 30+ more. SD has give up 71 and Green Bay 73. After 4 games we are the most well rounded and that's the most basic of proof.
Ben makes the Steelers the most "complete" team more so than Revis, Pace and Holmes' return to the Jets? C'mon Son!
The Steelers have a more fundamentally sound defense. They're ranked #1 against the run and they've got the lowest points per game allowed. I think it's very reasonable to put them #1 given that they have Roethlisberger coming back to go along with the defense they have. I also think that if the Steelers open up the offense now and start passing as much as Big Ben typically has done they'll be a worse team going forward. That's really weird but probably right.
The only two teams that I can reasonably accept as better than the Jets right now are Baltimore and the Steelers.
