I'd be pissed to though, this is his 3rd year. He got to watch one of the smartest QB's ever play for a year and learn from him too obviously. In their 3 losses at the end last year he threw 5 picks, in the final game he was injured so probably would've had at least 1 more against Pittsburgh. anyway They needed him to come up big and this was what people were saying then, he does not rise to the occasion. First 2 games this year were easy, against crap teams IMO. Then 2 big games, he throws 4 picks in between them. Surprising throws 3 of them to one of the worst pass D's in the league. In his last 7 games, with 5 of the games being important and must wins last year and almost must wins this year Henne has thrown 9 picks. 5 Big games, 9 picks. Not good. They are so lucky they have the bye this week, otherwise we might've seen Pennington. lol
I hope the Fins lose a few more games and pull Henne for Pennington when they're like 2-7 and Penny rallies them to like an 8-8 record (losing to the Jets of course). That would put an end to all the "Chad Henne is God" bullshit.
In fairness he did have to play Rex Ryan and Bill Belichick's defenses the past two games, albeit both at home. I agree he looked bad but he wasn't playing against the little sisters of the poor, either. I thought Thigpen showed some flashes in KC, especially the game against us, and of course they have Chad, but I don't think they're benching Henne off these two games.
I'm shocked to hear that they're even thinking of getting rid of Henne. I have to admit, he has looked really, really good up until last night's game. In fact, before he threw the first pick he was playing great last night. That being said, he made several throws that were HORRIBLE. He's a young QB and will have games like that and so will Sanchez. Sanchez is riding a string of good games right now so the natural tendency is to think that it will never end.
Looks more like Bill Belichicks defense that is inconsistent this year. They have had two great games.
What's really insane here is that this is a coaching and management problem not a QB problem. The Fins have two really good runningbacks on the team and yet they are throwing the ball 56% of the time. They could well have beaten the Jets two weeks ago if they just ran the ball half the time and took better control of their offensive flow. Similarly they got destroyed by the Pats last night at least in part because they never tried to establish the run. They passed the ball 17 times in the first half and ran it 11 while the game was still close. The opening kickoff of the second half went for 7 the other way and the Fins got pushed off balance and never recovered with a 3-and-out on the next series leading to a blocked punt and a 13 pt deficit. Somebody needs to get fired in Miami, and it isn't the QB. Nobody they put out there is going to throw the ball like Peyton Manning and pretending otherwise and calling plays as if he is is just stupid given Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.
Henne or Sanchez? That's like asking "dog doo or steak for dinner?". Henne isn't all bad, but I wouldn't trade Sanchez right now for any qb in the league.
Henne was 29/39 and had 2tds as well as his 3 int which 2 of were pretty bad but last night was not his fault completely. The special teams had a blocked punt within 15 yards of the goal line, gave up a return for a td, and blocked a fg for a td. That was basically 21 points that came off the special teams plus Henne's 1 pick 6 and that game just became hillarious. He could of done better but its not his head people are after right now, its the ST coach.
As much as I hate Belichick I think he's able to look at film and fix things from one week to the next. Rex's D got lit up in Miami and came back strong the next week, of course against a bad team, but I think D coaches that good aren't going to keep torched from one week to the next.
well it wasn't all elway, he got a running game can anyone say terrell davis, without davis elway was in 3 Super Bowls & lost all of them w/davis he was in 2 & won them both. In fact, in the 1st SB w/davis elway had a 50% completion rate (11-22) with 0 td's & 1 pick not what you would call overwhelming.
I wonder if the head coach/cheerleader/buffoon wore his sunglasses so he didn't have to make eye contact...
This is definitely true, but the Broncos would never have sniffed a Super Bowl, let alone a dynasty without Elway at the helm. He was the man, even if it took him a good fifteen years to fully prove it.
elway was great no doubt about it, but w/out the running game he would never have won a SB, just like marino. Plus elway always had a better team than marino did. In fact if it wasn't for us imploding elway would have only won 1 SB & w/crappy stats to show for it.
hmmm I don't know let me see...Manning, Brees, Brady, Rivers, Rothlesberger, Rogers...all of them have greater stats & wins than Mark & all but 2 have won a SB, some 2 or more, don't get me wrong I love the sanchize but until he wins the big one, these guys will be ahead of him.
So you'd trade a 23 year old STUD for some of the older crowd? (I know a few aren't that old) But I wouldn't either, Mark can more then handle what we need him to do this year and he's ONLY 23.
I would trade a 23 year old Sanchez for a 23 year old Manning or Brees. But I wouldn't trade the next 10-15 years of Sanchez for any of those guys right now.
