That is BS!! Right Now he has a 0.0 PPC (pukes per carry). Any legit puker would have at least 0.5 PPC.
LOL. I posted that in the game thread after his first carry: "Joe McKnight now has a higher average YPC than Leon."
and 2 less TDs and has yet to make any impact on a signle game while Leon won a game for Seattle. Again, I hope McKnight turns out to be 80% of what leon was for us but it's too early to tell.
Why all the Leon bashing?? He's moved on, there's no need to badmouth a guy who played well when w/ the Jets. Joe McNight has shown major fumble problems and seems like a dud. He's a rookie so let's wait it out to judge him. Even if Leon >>> McNight , the Jets >>> Seahawks. So let's calm down on the Leon bashing. Leon has already won a game almost single-handedly which deserves major props.
He fumbled in preaseason - cut him!!!Anger!!! I wish everyone would shut up about Mcknight. The guy is a rookie behind what is probably the best running back combination in the league. He'll get a few carries but not many and this isn't the year upon which he will be judged. For a group of guys who presumably know quite a bit about football we really act like short-sighted morons a lot of the time!
No, he's not. Junc is misguided as usual. Seattle has far less offensive weapons and talent on their team, thus they're able to rely on someone like Leon to be a playmaker. That same player would be our 3rd RB, behind LT and Greene. Is there even room for a 3rd RB on our team right now? Of course not. So Junc has nothing on which to base his argument. Dead in the water.
We need Leon about as much as we need another starting punter right now. He was a good guy though, no doubt.
You are too infatuated w/ me. Leon has won a game for Seattle against a good SD team, he'd be our #3 RB and KR and he'd be making plays. Yesterday was a game where we should have had our 3rd RB taking all the carries in the 4th qtr but b/c we have zero confidence in our 3rd back(and he was only activated for PR purposes) we had Greene and LT playing until late in the game getting them more tocuhes they didn't need and exposing them to wear and tear and injuries. There's not a knowledgeable persn on this site who wouldn't agree that leon would be more valuable for 2010(even off the injury), this deal will turn out to be good or bad in the coming years depending upon what McKnight eventually can do.
A lot of you guys waste too much time evaluating Leon as just a RB, looking at his YPC, etc. He's much more than that, as junc mentioned he has already won a game for his team, what more do you want? That's what he did for us, won games and kept us in games with big returns. Also by taking a play on offense here and there and breaking it. Looking at his stats per carry just as a RB and ignoring what he does best is a waste of time. This isn't baseball, you can't explain everything with stats. When you can win a game for your team, or keep you in a game with one or two plays, that's an impact player, regardless of whether or not you like the person who made that point.
