Am I missing sarcasm from you too or are you actually using tackles as THE measure of quality of play for a cornerback? You realize that INT was a gifty, right?

Slauson i would agree people who say he should be benched are overreacting.

Because i have focused on him when i re-watch games and he has done some good things. He handles himself pretty well in pass blocking situations from what i've seen. Even when he doesn't have double team help. He does well in the run as well. Tho sometimes there are tackles he could have prevented by picking up a defender, but doesn't because it looks like he didn't notice the defender for some reason or maybe he was assigned to block someone else (i saw that on 2 different plays in last night's game). With him i can feel a lil optimistic though because there are some positives and that makes me think he will get better as he plays more

The thing that worries me about Wilson is that he hasn't done anything positive when they put him up against receivers. I've seen him make some good plays when he's covering TEs, but that's not why they drafted him. He's suppose to be there to shutdown receivers. Unless they're going to move him to FS, i can't really look at that as a positive

I'm hoping he can get those things fixed. But right now, he scares me

I warned Vince about posts like the ones in here. People said oh Jets won't be dumb enough to call out a rookie cb forced to start because of Revis.

Watch him closely, he's right there on most plays. Once he learns to read eyes and the ball better, game over.

Wilson has more natural ability. We saw Coleman get burned by Peyton right before halftime of the Championship game and that turned it around. Now, we know it's Peyton and he can do it to anybody, but the hope is to get Wilson going right and with his extra speed he gets a hand on that one. Will it happen? Maybe, maybe not. We're pretty sure with Coleman he would get burned again.

You can throw all stats out the window when evaluating corner backs....

Edit: All positions really, but especially corners

    I find your logic hilarious.

Fine, put Coleman out there and you'll see how he's worse than lowery for christs sake.

I call this the Kellen Clemens Effect. We aren't comfortable being patient with a new player so we want what we know even though the quality is low of the familiar player.

The devil you know is better than the devil you don't I guess.

How about manning up and waiting for Wilson to see the game at a slower pace?

I can't believe this is a problem with people.... Actually I can, because people wanted Clemens to start over Sanchez.

This is even stupider than the Clemens situation, but at a lesser magnitude because it's a cornerback.

Drew Coleman was probably the most hated Jet on this board along with Gholston. He makes one play that most of the credit goes to Pool and everyone loves him and wants him to start over our young corner with tons of talent?

Wilson is definitely better than Coleman is right now anyway...

    This is a terrible argument.

Darrelle Revis has been out their as much as Coleman, if not more.

Revis has 3 tackles and 0 picks, so by your logic Coleman should start over Revis right?

    The stats don't lie.

I don't care that some were on ST, it clearly shows that Coleman is the better player.

Honestly people like franzmen should be banned for a period of time due to incredible stupidity in their posts.... Think about it mods we'd be able to clean up this site of retards for a nice period of time. The fact that the suggestion of starting Drew Coleman over Kyle Wilson even got mentioned proved to me that you are not smart enough or classy enough to be a Jets fan... Please go and join the team that will welcome your idiocy and lack of football knowledge with open arms.. the Miami Dolphags.

I think its fair to say that Kyle Wilson has not played at the level that a starting #2 CB needs to play at in the NFL.... at the same time tho he's only a rookie so he'll prob come around

Jfaulk you made my day with these pics.

Guy's Coleman stinks, he has had a chance to prove he could get it done and he can't, KW was not brought here to be the 2 CB, that job belongs to Cro the Impregnator, Wilson was brought in to play safety, he will be fine give him some time to learn the system, he will be fine.

I love how the those pulling the rookie card just assume Wilson will get better, by pointing to Revis' rookie year, or others. Want me to dig up 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 other rookies who played awful in their first 3 weeks and never amounted to anything? The rookie comparison argument is worthless.

That said, I am not saying he is going to be awful down the road. Hell, he may come out this Sunday and/or the rest of the season, shut down his man all day and never look back (pardon the pun). I just don't know.

But enough with the "he's having growing pains", or "it's just a few bumps". He has been playing awful and it's just a matter of time before a good OC takes full advantage of it - the Pats *and* Dolphins got very close. So call a spade a spade. He needs to step it up ASAP.

Why do I get the feeling many here are still talking him up because they did so pre-draft?

P.S. No, Drew Coleman is not better. I will never be on that bandwagon.

I love how you ignore the fact that people ALSO claimed the guy actually has TALENT oozing from his pores and his a guy who 110% eats breathes and LIVES FOOTBALL....

When you look at players that never live up to the hype start by looking at their WORK ETHIC...... Kyle will be working his tail off all week, believe me.

But, go ahead, lets see some of your list.... I'd like to eliminate the guys who never put the time in or the guys who stunk covering WR4 playing in nickel the 1st 3 weeks....

I say you will have a tough time finding ANY CB that has had as much on his plate given the injuries and lack of pass rush the Jets have had... Qb's are holding the ball waiting for Wilson to eventually get beat and with time ANY Cb can get beat PERIOD.

One thing that also sucks about Revis being out is that KW can't concentrate on the return game as much - This guy is DYNAMIC and an Awesome return guy - I can't wait till he unleashes a few returns...

You watch, He's about to have an incredible game HELPING to shut down an offense and a TD or 2 on returns and all of a sudden The Kyle Wilson Bandwagon is going to be INSANE!!!!!!

    I ignored no such thing.

    And you know KW personally?

    And you know KW personally?

I love how you ignored the point of my post: Kyle Wilson has the talent, but has been sucking lately, and the fanboys are having trouble admitting it.

You watch, if/when he loses us a game on a 4th quarter bomb where he watched the receiver blow right by him and never got his head around, the KW hate-wagon is going to be INSANE!!!

Wilson studying harder than any rookie I've ever been around (Mike Pettine)

You have to be kidding with this haterade. He's played THREE GAMES in his career and showed a big improvement from week 1 to week 2. He regressed a bit in week 3, but you will see inconsistencies with pretty much every rookie in the history of the NFL.

Get off his jock already. Have just an OUNCE of patience.

I've seen and heard enough about Kyle Wilson through his college career to know he's a FOOTBALL PLAYER and Loves the game and is not a punk or bum that you see from many failed CB's...

I love how you never mentioned the word Talent but, Now claim it was "The Point" of your post - Umm, ok guy.

Some of the best CB's to ever play the game have been and do get burned even if they weren't in a situation liek Kyle is being thrust in...

I have no doubt that Kyle could get burned at any time.... Hey Revis has been Burned..

I also have no doubt that the Chicken Littles complaining now in week 3 of a rookie CB career will absolutley go NUTZ even moreso, I'll bet the house on it, they will be ready to sign Ty Law and cut the guy.

He could get burned on a game losing play and I'll STILL analyze his overall improvement and the entire game and how he's developing!!!!!

THIS is a good thing.... He's getting thrown into the fire...

LISTEN TO ME!!!!! IF this is going to be a magical season for you , me and the NEW YORK JETS then what is going to happen is, Kyle Wilson is going to learn from this and grow exponentially and at season's end we will have Darrelle Revis, Cromartie AND Kyle Wilson ALL playing healthy Great ball.....

IF Revis is never 100% and Cromartie can't tackle and cover #1 WR's and Kyle Wilson is asked to be CB1b down the stretch in huge games, then I won't argue with a you, WE ARE IN TROUBLE....

    Seriously?

So because Rex told us we're going to the SB, KW will (by fate, perhaps?) just get better? I'm all for optimism, but c'mon, man.

Cro can barely tackle and has been has surely had trouble in coverage thus far. But that's a different debate altogether.

Please save all posts. We can revisit this at seasons end.
Jets are 2-0 in the division with their current D.
Charles Woodson and the packers have great D.
    They lost last night.
    Go Jets.
