He was offered starting RB money, but wanted more. He isn't a starting RB, he is a third down back and KR you cna't afford to pay everyone in a salary cap. LT and SG look better then LW and TJ.
Thank you Mike Tannenbaum for trading Leon. This move will allow us to sign better players than an injury prone 28 year old kick returner with an iron rod in his leg. Thank you for getting some value where it was guaranteed he would leave us after the 2010 season anyway, where he would have a limited role anyway. Thanks Tanny! I actually like this thread.
leon wanted starters money, go fuck yourself leon!!!!!!!!!!!!! yesturday, santana moss had a td, k.rhodes had some tackles, fanaca made some nice blocks, WTF are you doing tanny????????????????????????????????
And don't forget Danny Woodhead, he scored too! Seriously, I'm very happy for Leon but its time to move on.
yeah Leon's 2.6 yards per carry says alot, almost as much as only being given 10 carries by the seahawks.
We probably wouldn't have been able to sign Leon long term either way, I hated to see him traded but it was an understandable business decision.
Go contact Leon and tell him if he accepted the Jets proposal instead of believing he was Darren Sproles he would have still been here with the Jets. And he would have a contract in place instead of uncertainty in his future.
Im happy for Leon. I really wanted to see him come back as he was one of my favorite Jets. But his demands were way to high and we got some value for him. Ill always keep an eye on him but im not miffed he is gone. Only one player we have not re-signed has pissed me off and that was when we lost LC the first time around to Washington.
