Now, I'm not sitting here and saying that what Braylon did is justifiable or that he should not be dealt with accordingly, but let's take a look at something. The way the Jets have handled the entire situation (up until this point) is getting attention in a negative light. Talks of how this team is an embarrassment, how the team is playing sheep and following the actions of previous teams in similar situations by not doing the "right thing". The embarrasment remark has really been passed around over the past few days, including from Rex himself. Is this entire situation a "blessing in disguise?", almost as if we are that underdog team again, looking up at the top instead of looking down at the rest of the league? Will/should Rex handle it that way, or should he reassure the team they are that damn good?
don't be a slapdick and believe that nonsense dude. braylons not going anywhere, this isn't the boyscouts.
I was actually wondering if this would bring the team together in an "us against the world" type way today. You're probably right.
I hope so...I'd love to see 17 put on a max potential type of performance.... 8 catches 150 or so yards Hauling in a 65 yard wide open bomb for 6, followed up later by a leaping grab in traffic for 6 more.
Before the DUI incident, Braylon was playing totally loose. He's drop-prone when he plays tight, like he was when he first came to the Jets. I think it's possible that this could have an effect of straightening him up and making him act like a man, but will that tightness come back as well?
That's the beauty of Rex's brand of trash talk. He doesn't really bash the opposing team, he just declares his team the best and goads players from other teams to go into attack mode. Rex's trashtalk is a catalyst for Us Against The World.
If anyhting it only makes the WR choice easier. BE just ruined his chances of getting resigned by the jets. I think we'll keep holmes. remember rex on hard knocks saying that holmes might be the best player on the field?
I think this just made it easier to resign braylon.no one is gonna touch him.he falls back to us on the cheap.
Every negative thing that happens to the Jets can't be a blessing in disguise. It's only week two and we have had at least 3-4 blessings in disguise.
I'd say its pretty feasible at this point. If we manage to have Holmes, Braylon and Cotch all kept on this team, there is no doubt our offense will be scary for years to come.
I'd say no, because BE is not teachable. . . . guys like BE (dopes) are just not inclined to learn from stuff like this. BE was with Donte' Stallworth the night he killed that guy in Florida. If he didn't learn anything from something as deadly seriuos as that, he's totally incapable of learning a lesson.
Absolutely this is a blessing.if this doesn't happen what would be the topic of 100 worthless threads
Fucking Christ, he got caught having a little too much fun. It was reckless and irresponsible, but even in the case of a conviction, which isn't guaranteed, only a misdemeanor. With a good lawyer, which I am sure he can afford, he could even end up with one of these: A Fucking traffic violation for the sake of pete... Get a hold of yourselves.
