Yeah. The free version is the same virus scanner as the versions that cost money. You just miss out on the bullshit like the email scanner, anti-phishing, silly toolbars, etc..
I tried downloading this program and it told me that Windows found this program to be potentially harmful and blocked me from being able to run it. What can I do?
Ack! Helllllllllllllllllp! After getting stupid adobe and java trying to kick in several times, now I can't get firefox to load at all. I have to use explorer. Any suggestions? Should I uninstall and reinstall?
Hey! Ok, so I'm getting another problem. Google Chrome, which is what I use as my main internet browser won't work anymore. However, Internet Explorer and Mozilla both still work. I have Norton...every couple of minutes it says it's blocking an attack and it's the same exact attack every time. This is what it looks like on Norton....
I don't know how many of you still use Firefox but I have found some great new add-ons/extensions. Here are the new ones: No-Squint- Makes Font on Page bigger so you can read easier. Nuke Anything Enhanced- Right click anything on a page be it a link, a pic or gif that is annoying you and this will nuke it from site. Photo Bucket Uploader- Will upload anypics on a web page to your photobucket account. AFOM- Memory leakage recovery helps makeFirefox faster. AutoPager- Automatically goes to next page. For instance if a thread is 90 posts long it will automatically load the next page when you get to the bottom. It's great....... Bulletin Board (Forum) Management- This lets you ignore users if you truly want to. Unlike the individual forum ignore features this one nukes everything about the poster you want ignored. It completely nukes quotes as well. Other features- If someones Avatar or Sig annoys you, it allows you to ignore them but still see that users posts............Link to this great add-on for forum usage Download Helper- Download Youtube videos to your computer. Cool Previews- Allows you to preview threads and links etc. just moving a mouse over it.
Also another program for Windows that is useful is revo uninstaller (revouninstaller). It removes 90% or better a program that you have installed on your computer, including registry files others that windows uninstaller doesn't remove. There is also a non-free version that most likely gets 99% though I've never used the non-free version.
Alright I'm on my friends PC and have defragged twice, did the CC Cleaner. He bought a Norton Anti-virus and downloaded the new internet explorer. I also secured his Internet, since his network was unsecured and people in his neighborhood could use it if they wanted. The Internet runs fine...Now the only issue is when he shuts down...When he turns his PC back on, the thing takes forever to load and is a turtle. Any suggestions?
Get rid of Norton.. Seriously. Its running all the time and obviously during startup. I only use MS Security Essentials. No AV shit for me.
Personally I'd like to delete his Norton. But he went to BestBuy and purchased it so I doubt he wants me to delete it. I'm going to download the link you provided. I just restarted his comp...Opening Internet Explorer takes about 40 seconds...But once it loads, going to another website takes 5-10 seconds. Its just after re-start his comp is slow as shit.
Alright I ran up to Subway real quick as I'm uninstalling Norton. Now I'm not really computer smart when you ask for specs or hardware? A quick way on how to get there would be nice.
