    Just been on Rookie watch.
Says a big reason the Patsies got shut down in the second half was Wilson stepping up in the absence of Revis.
Got to say I was gob-smacked how good he was last week.

wilson looks like he'll be a stud. he's alot like revis actually and he gets to learn form revis which is even better. i wish we could keep cromartie too since he's such a physical freak but we can't afford him

My gob is being repeatedly smacked by how the Jets are coping with losses on defense, and last week the offense got in on the act as well by mounting a TD drive while Mangold was out.

Too much talk in this thread about studs and gobs. Anyway...

I am excited. I don't mind seeing this kid get beat, and I like that the coaching staff has enough faith in him to let him feast or famine on blitzes, etc. I think he's a nice form tackler, save for one play, and he seems really focused. I'm looking forward to seeing him the rest of the year.

His improvement from week 1 to week 2 was very impressive. He had much more body control and awareness around the ball while still being right with his man as he was most of week 1. If he can keep that type of play and improvement up he'll be a very good one.

Wilson needs to improve his tackling (he should've sacked Brady on that CB blitz when Brady ducked him).....but you're right, he certainly made strides from week 1 to week 2.

Wilson had him...and should've taken his head off.

Oh well.....he's showing improvement....and that's all we can really ask for at this stage of his development. :)

Yup. If he keeps up with the attitude and work ethic he has he'll be very good.

Yeah, I'm excited as well. I think he's going to blossom into a great shutdown corner.

Yeah, seeing Mangold walking off last week nearly put me in hospital, but the O didn't miss a beat, Revis disappears and the D stepped up, is this the sign of a great team?

I was so pissed about that but then I kinda forgave him when I settled down. Think about it, rookie in his second game comes in clean on a blitz and just assumes the QB has no idea where he is. When he was at Boise St. the QB probably would have never felt the blitz and Wilson would have wrecked him. He got duped by a great veteran QB which is going to be a good learning experience for him in the long run.

luckily...Henne is a dope....and given the chance, Wilson should redeem himself coming off the edge again this Sunday.

Hopefully Henne will need to change the tampon in his forehead vagina a few times Sunday night.

No. This is the sign of a team that is utterly undisciplined.

I def think he's got the good to be a great player.

The one negative I did see was that he really doesn't look back for the ball. I notice Revis does this almost every play, to the point where he ends up being the wide receiver. Cro did it on the play when he got the INT off Moss BUT NOT the 2nd one that Pool picked up.

If Wilson could get his head around he's be one tough SOB to play against. I'm sure that will come in time and some it has to do with the defense being called, etc.

I think thats just down to first year nerves and not wanting to lose contact with the WR.
Revis is master at that, and Cro is no slouch either. It'll come if hes training with the best
