It would be interesting to know just how many physical altercations lead to death or impairment.

Well, since we know that a large percentage of deaths are violent, then we don't even have to look at what really are the stats. And since all violent deaths involve some kind of assault, it's a humongous figure, for sure.

And it's just unacceptable that there should be any violent deaths, and since any assault could lead to a violent death, we need to stop all assaults, even a simple shove.

As far as I am concerned, anyone here excusing what they would like to see as a simple shrug is really saying it's okay to murder someone.

Listen buddy, I would never want to be seen as insensitive so I am very sorry for your friends misfortune. However, the linear connections you're coming up with are absolutely insane! It's like your saying 1 + 1 = 5.... Obviously no one here would condone any form of murder or even aggravated assault, but a simple light shove of someone who's clearly looking to be an instigator and start trouble, does not in turn make them a supporter of murder! I think your going way to far with that my man.

The fact that this guy even has a right to bring this ridiculousness before a judge indicates what's gone terribly wrong in this country. If anything, the judge should find his actions reprehensible forstarting the whole situation. There is little doubt by that video that his intentions were to try and be a wise ass and start trouble. If he really was just trying to get the giant fans fired up without being an ass, he would have let ed do his thing since he was already starting his chant and then he could have done his stupid giants chant (whatever that may be). I'm not a huge ed fan, but this isn't all on him. Both guys are accountable!

This is really a shame that any time or tax payer money is being spent because a Giant fan is a wus. really, he got a lawyer to press his case? What a wus.

I think 99% of giant fans would denounce this guy!

The guy got what he deserved. He knew who Fireman Ed was and what he does with the Jets cheers. He chose to interfere with the Jets cheer and got shoved out of the way for his efforts. Security made the right call throwing this bum out of the game.

If anything the judge should give Fireman Ed a restraining order against this guy.

As for you trying to relate your experience to this, just get your head out of your ass. Just because that outcome happened on one occaision does not mean that it happens every time someone pushes or hits someone else. This guy deliberately provoked Fireman Ed and was justly escorted from the stadium for it.

    WTF?

First of all, Fireman Ed was defending himself.

Secondly pushing someone is equivalent to murder?

You have lost any credibility you may have had with such a ridiculous statement. Do you even think about what you have written before you submit your posts?

lol. the time spent on the posts is hilarious. that's what happens when you don't read through most of the thread.

although this is really another thread's doing.

Football is a violent game. So is being a fan in the other team's stadium. Get over it.

Heh. Yeah, I guess I was assuming all would know about the discussions of BE and his DUI.

    James Hasty,

I apologize. I was being sarcastic, comparing Ed's actions to the people who were judging BE too harshly. I now assume you didn't read those threads.

    No problem.

I was multi-tasking so I wasn't paying enough attention to get the joke.

I was just sticking up for Ed the same as I would for BE. The arguement against BE was equally ridiculous but that guy meant every word.

The whole time up to the national anthem Fireman Ed is posing for pics and signing autographs.

Seeing this up close now I actually feel bad for the guy. This drunk Giant nearly knocked Ed over and others as he wobbled down the stairs. I was right their and and Ed chest bumped him, that was it. The security guard assigned to Ed was trying to stop him the entire time.

There are so many mitigating factors in this incident, not the least of which is that fact that there was clearly provocation on the part of the Giants fan.
