Damn, I hope to the Football god's that we land Haynesworth! Kris Jenkins may be a beast, but Haynesworth is a freak of nature when motivated, and with the Jets and Rex Ryan - He'll be ready to lead our d-line for years to come.
I would make Washington pay the majority of his salary and we would consider tossing them a 6th for him, but beyond that I wouldnt go anywhere near him. Haynesworth has proven now that he has been paid he isnt the same force he was prior to that.
Sorry to repeat this again but he's only due 16 mil over the next three years . They'd laugh at that kind of offer . Not trying to be a Dick just reiterating what was said previously.
Two thoughts on this: 1. The Patriots definitely have the draft picks to give up a second and a later pick without blinking. 2. Belichik is smart enough to know that he didn't lose yesterday because Tom Brady didn't have enough options to throw the ball too. He lost because his team got beat in the trenches and his secondary had a terrible game.
I've been hearing the Vikings having more interest than the Pats which I at least hope is true. If the Patriots got VJ that receiving core would be insane. Hopefully SD shops him to an NFC team
I don't think they're looking at it from the perspective of just winning this season. The Pats don't operate that way. If the Pats picked up Vincent Jackson, it would mean the end of the Randy Moss era in New England at the end of this season. However, they'd still get the best out of Moss for the rest of this season since he'll be playing for a contract somewhere. It would make a lot of sense for them to get younger at the position.
I would think that belly would be looking more to acquire Marcus Mcneil than V-Jax. their OL needs a boost, and they find a way to shuffle the line and make a makeshift line into a damn good one.
Yeah, that's the thing. I don't see San Diego dealing with a team like the Patriots that has been a serious rival for the past few years. It doesn't make sense on their end.
I don't think Belichik is stupid enough to eyeball a good #2 receiver into a #1. There's no way Vincent Jackson can replace what Randy Moss has given the Pats over the last few years. He just isn't a dominant receiver. He makes some nice catches deep and that's important, but he's been playing with one of the best QB's in the business and he has yet to break 70 catches. That's just not a #1. If VJax was actually a #1 somebody would have bitten on the 1st and the 3rd in free agency and we wouldn't be sitting here right now trying to figure out who might trade for him at this point. He was sitting out there at that price for 6 months and nobody snapped him up.
Yeah, the Logan Mankins holdout and Ty Warren's injury have really left the Pats in a bit of trouble.
On WEEI (Sports Radio here in Pats Country) they're talking up a VJ to Pats for Mankins trade. Not that it has happened or is happening but they're talking it up.
That would be a great trade for the Jets. I hope it happens. Mankins should bring a low 1 to the Pats in a few weeks after a high profile lineman goes down somewhere.
The Vikings are going to go all in on a VJ trade. If San Diego trades him to the Pats, they're fuckn' stupid.
Peter King obviously wants VJ to the Pats since he's bending over backwards to convince the Vikings that getting him is a bad idea.
