Q: Favorite memories from last season? A: When we beat San Diego and we had that fourth-and-1, that was a great memory. I tell ya what was great too, when the fans ... that Patriot game, the first one, was terrific. ... That place was rockin’. It was unbelievable, we weren’t getting’ beat by anybody. The same thing when we played Cincinnati in that cold night. Our fans were into it like crazy, and it’s funny, when we were goin’ off the field, Cincinnati went in their locker room first. And our fans were doin’ the J-E-T-S just over and over. As they passed by, and I looked at Marvin Lewis, I was basically sayin’, “You’re getting’ ready to get your butt kicked right now.” You could have taken an All-Star team, we were winnin’ that game. Because I felt our players, we felt that passion of our fans. Like, not only did players want it, but our fans wanted us to make the playoffs, and I don’t care who was standin’ in our way. So for you lazy fucks who don't get into your seats before kickoff and scream you head off, why don't you listen to the man who is coaching your team. You make a difference. Get it done.
I don't think the team will be able to hear me screaming my head off in DC. Not like that's going to stop me, though.
Couldn't agree more Mick. We CAN make a difference in the game when we scream so loud they can't communicate and take delay of games, timeouts and just have major mis-communication issues. Let's be SUPERFANS and help our team get to the SuperBowl!!!
And Rex said it helps the team. They feel the energy and play that much stronger. It is what made the 37-0 bashing possible. I was at that game, it was fucking insane. I was proud of this fanbase for the first time ever. How about we do it for a whole season? Let's be actual football fans during a football game.
Rex knew immediately that our home crowd was one of the worst in the league and look what he did? He called all of our houses. He made the fans feel important and needed. I expect the crowd to be even better in 2010 at the new stadium. Our defense with deafening crowd noise? UNSTOPPABLE.
I don't think the new stadium is really going to help matters after pricing out many season ticket holders, but the rest of us will just have to make up for the jerks at the indoor buffets.
that's the one thing I hate, and that's why I'd like to call on the remaining fans to make up for it. Most of those up front seats won't be taken up by the rabid fans. Bunch of suits enjoying the warm indoors while watching the game through a window.
Totally sucks I would love to have all Die hards that bleed green at the game on Monday but i only think bout 70% of the stadium will be true diehard fans maybe even less after this whole PSL ordeal!
there is no excuse for the new stadium not to be insanely loud monday night against Baltimore. It should be louder than against the pats. It should have the air sirens blasting, it should result in our smothering defense being even more unstoppable. it should lift our offense, and Mark Sanchez up and give them a boost of confidence to put up points on the ravens. This is the reason I feel that we should beat Baltimore monday, not necessarily because we are a stronger team right now, but because our team will come out hair on fire, and it will stay burning all game long, if the fans stick to it, the Jets will be unstoppable.
Some of you guys are saying PSLs priced out a lot of true fans and I was thinking: if some of these old season ticket holders and fans from years past were so abysmal when it came to home field advantage, would the new stadium and clean slate for tickets help? I think it does, getting people in season-long seats who haven't had the opportunity before. Season passes stayed within families and businesses for a long time at Giants stadium.
But the businesses scooped up the premium seats and those tickets go to associates who could give a fuck about how the Jets are doing. That's what mostly happens with these new stadiums.
My brother has scored some tickets in the new stadium through work, and basically says this. Ex: they gave 4 guys tix to the game, and he'll be the only real JETS fan. He gets so pissed..... hates the new stadium now (although said it's real nice inside) because of this. :shit::jets:
After all the attention this offseason, with a new stadium, with a 7 and 4 o'clock start the first two games, and with this defense I suspect the crowd is gonna be in a frenzy from the get go. Ray Lewis's comments.......Monday night football..... Fuckin Green Day is playing the Jets game. Even if you don't like them, that's pretty cool. This is the perfect storm for a wild crowd.
I am not going to judge the crowd until after Monday nite---I hope the place will be just as loud as the old place but the fact that so many seats went corporate gives me an uneasy feeling. I know upstairs will be Rocking as thats where the diehards live---but those lower level seats-------we will see come Monday nite and I will be one of the ones posting come Tuesday telling you what actually took place
As much as I'd love to say I know my section will be rockin, I just don't think so. At least based off the two preseason games. I hope to God it's different come regular season. There were guys in suit jackets, button down shirts, and others were basically on the phone the whole game. I would stand up and yell shit and some looked at me like I was nuts.
Next time you get that look, say to them, "i've been here longer than you. Stand up and cheer or GTFO"
