I'm just shocked it's happening in Miami. Dropped passes? I can't think of a city where the men are more adept at grabbing balls.

It's hard to believe but Bill Parcells has become a quitter. That's why none of his teams since the Giants have gotten over the hurdles and gone all the way. A few bumps here and there and Parcells is headed out of town.

He's a turnaround guy no doubt about it but he doesn't have the stones to finish the job.

It's really a Carucci story. Carucci is said to be very tight with Parcells.

The homer of all homers Armando Salqueero strongly refutes the allegations in this story. However, even though he literally sucks Dolphin balls, I mean he is a ridiculous homerfied beat writer, he doesn't have the pipeline to Parcells.... so they were debating down here.

Who knows about this story. All I know is not many are enthused by what they are seeing out of Fins camp. Although no games have yet been played where there is smoke there is fire.

    Couldn't agree more............

Yes, even though parcells could have left last season and still collected his full contracted salary, he's a quitter. He could go to another team to tomorrow and still collect very dime he signed for. Instead, he's stepping down and staying with the club.

    Clearly a quitter.

And yes Willie, since I'm of the opinion that there really isnt anything to be disappointed about at this time, I'm clearly stating I'm more qualified than parcells. Exxavgerate my point more...really, calling someone out for armchair GMing is fucking laughable after reading through that revis thread.

Parcells left the Pats after losing a Super Bowl, when the QB he had locked up for a long time proved not to be capable of winning the big game. He left the Jets after Vinny Testaverde's injury and his own salary cap choices effectively closed their window early. He left the Cowboys when it became clear that Drew Bledsoe really wasn't the guy, even given another chance and that Tony Romo wasn't the guy to take them all the way either. Now he's ditching the Fins when caught between an aging and injury prone Chad and a young Chad who hasn't developed into a sure thing in two tries.

The last guy I would hire to try to get my team to a Super Bowl right now is Bill Parcells. Because they'll fall short and then he'll throw up his hands in disgust again and walk away.

Really there's no other way to describe Parcells incessant team-hopping.

What he does is hand you stability, and then leaves.

Then it's up to the next FO to clean it up and keep it successful.

I don't see what he could be disappointed about if the guy is starting his 2nd year as a starter...

Sure his preseason has been lackluster but so has the entire teams play.

I'm not sure that he said it, but if he said it hes being a moron

The way Pennington played in the preseason, I don't think its as big of a deal. Marshall is a perfect compliment to Pennington. Pennington excels in short passing game while Marshall's bread and butter lies in YAC in such conditions.

If Pennington is better than Henne by some margin, letting Henne learn the ins and outs of the NFL for another season can't be the end of the world.

If Henne is the long-term answer, then it makes no sense whatsoever for the Dolphins to sit him on the bench this year.

Cowcesser will be on WFAN at 9am on Sunday for his NFL Now show. He'll mention all the games so maybe he'll have a few words on this Parcells-Henne thing.

How is the Revis thread even remotely relevant?

You're talking about a guy who has been intimately involved in QB development in the NFL for years. He presumably has far more information regarding his development than some stats from preseason games. But according to you the only thing that matters is that Henne had 11 dropped passes in preseason and so there's nothing to be disappointed in.

His disappointment regarding Henne's development is obviously unwarranted - you've given us every reason to believe so.

He's been part of three successive turnarounds over a 12 year span that fell short of a Super Bowl appearance now. His ability to clean up and turnaround appears to be inapplicable in terms of making the next step up because nobody has done that since Belichik and many of the players Belichik used to win 3 Super Bowls were unconnected to Parcells turnaround effort in the mid-90's.

I would argue that the stability that he leaves is actually nothing close to ideal. He walked out on the Pats and they immediately declined from a team that had gone to a Super Bowl to the middle of the pack. It took another coaching change on their part to get back on track and they had to live through a 5-11 season and get very lucky for things to work out for them.

He left the Jets with a huge cap problem and a rapidly declining talent base on the defensive side. Almost all of the Jets key starters on defense were going post-prime when he walked out the door and had just a few seasons left. The offense was a little better off but not a lot and the net result was about a 75% roster turnover within 4 years of him leaving the organization. That's not stability.

He left the Cowboys on the doorstep of greatness and they immediately stumbled after his exit. Again, the key players on the defensive side of the field are heading post-prime in the next couple of years. The Cowboys are likely to be the Jets all over again, especially after the seemingly inevitable Wade Phillips firing after this season.

The Dolphins? They never quite got there and now they probably never will off of that talent base. His draft picks have been falling out at an alarming rate and once again, the defense looks like it's going to age out before everything comes together.

Bill Parcells is like cotton candy for a down-trodden franchise. He tastes really good for a few seasons and then the sweetness fades and the team becomes just another team looking for a quick fix for the problems that accumulated under his tenure.

He's probably just tired from staying up late watching Hard Knocks re-runs.

I really don't know which beat writer from NY is tight with Tannenbaum like that, so I had to make a comparison between someone who isn't officially employed by the organization, but has a strong connection to a decision-maker within management or the coaching staff. The only one I could think of is Schotty Sr. and Schotty Jr.
