Time flies when you are having fun.

I think Love is what got this deal done, with Bert Bacharach playing piano in the background.

    That's right, another piano reference.

In this article by Bitchmini: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5539595

it states at the end that Revis was looking for a 10 yr $162 with $40M in guarantees.

Shit, we ended offering $32M in guaranteed money so for only $8M more in guaranteed we could have locked his ass up for 6 more years?

Except he probably would have gone into hold out mode again in 4 years :p

Exactly. There is a good chance there will be another salary cap down the road. That would have made it harder to sign other players.

just heard the news. I am glad this is over and Revis is back in the fold. Still have mixed emotions over the holdout but the important fact is that he is back at practice with the team.

Let him get through 4 weeks without a hammy pull....

It's funny, just took my 12 Y.O to get sneakers...while we're in Modells, a kid with a Revis shirt on walks by and the lad says...I just need one of those shirts, and and M and an I....

I ask him, why would you need an I....he says, that's the easy way to turn the S into the dollar sign....

I nearly p!$$ed in my pants..

but it costs you $162 million if you keep him all 10 years, unless you realistically think Revis would take a pay cut in the latter half of those years, especially if he is still performing at such a high caliber.

the guarantee money was only relevant to whether he would sign, you can't then just stop on that and think the $162 million contract was a good deal for the Jets.

Funny thing about it is, he doesn't really follow it at any level. He's a track kid..

    That's what made it funny.

I think the key question I have now is whether Revis held out long enough to make this the longest thread ever. I haven't been here long enough to know if it's anywhere close.
